Okay, so say there's another world, right?  A world where Sam died with Mary and Johnny-boy couldn't take it so he started drinking.  And he drank a whole lot.  But he also trained Dean to fight and shoot and all that good stuff.

So, Dean's our Dean, but he's a Dean with no Sam.

And John abuses him, of course, but he's also teaching him.  So Dean grows and finally John dies somehow, and then Dean vanishes.  Just up and gone.

Say he's about thirteen or so, on his own, a killer who looks like a young angel.  The world's a hard and cold place for grown-ups, so it doesn't really treat kids all that well.

Now, what does Dean do for survival?  He utilizes the skills he's already got, and what are those?  Fighting and--well.

So, of course, he's still growing.  And he learns quickly.  A few years pass and he's an even better fighter and... other things.  And he figures out that people always want to kill other people.

Now, this Dean doesn't really have much in the way of a conscience.  He really only cares about himself.  And he knows how to kill, and kill well.

So, he decides to become an assassin.  He's about twenty by now.  He could use the money and he's really getting tired of using the way he's been using.

Now, he can shoot pretty good and he's good with knives and he's real good at fighting.  So it's not that hard to make a name for himself with the people who know people.

And then, of course, this world collides with our Dean's world and somehow they switch places.

---

So, say Dean was talking to Sammy.  Say they were finally having the discussion about why Dean's eyes bled.  And say Sam's realizing he doesn't really know his brother all that well, poor thing.

There's a little flicker, not much, but Dean's changed.  His necklace is gone.  His hair's a little longer.  And he's looking at Sam like he doesn't have a clue who he is.

Clearly, there's a problem here.

So, Dean has a knife at Sam's throat and demands who he is and what's going on.  He doesn't believe Sammy when he says they're brothers and something has obviously gone very wrong.

Eventually, of course, they get things straightened out, but not before Dean kisses Sam and scoffs that they're related.

Dean tells the story of the night of the fire and how his mom had told him to watch out for Sammy when she kissed him goodnight. How he woke up to screaming and smoke and his dad yelled for him to get out of the house, but instead he lunged into Sammy's nursery to see his momma and fire and Dad grabbed for him, getting them both the hell out of there.

Dean tells him that he's always wondered if only he'd been a little bit faster...

And he also says, somewhere in the story, that he hasn't done a good thing since about when Sam was a baby.

---

Now, this doesn't have to end as wincest.  Dean doesn't really think they're related till the end, when they figure out to switch them back, so does that count?

I'd prefer it, of course, but then I am a sick puppy.
