people are crazy

So, my college has a quad, right? It is bordered by buildings, and the entrances to the quad are wide enough that car can drive through.
Today, someone did. He drove his car in, parked, unloaded all sorts of crap, and left the doors and trunk open. Then he put a leash on his dog and walked away.
I could see all this from my classroom.
Anyway, so people started gathering around and the campus police showed up. They examined the car and stood nearby, talking. It looked they were radioing someone.
Then the police packed up the car and called a tow-truck, which took the car away. It was all very distracting—it’s hard to focus on a lecture about Buddha when the police are trying to figure out if the car parked on the quad is a bomb.
Now, a girl in my class said that her friend heard the guy went to the design building and told people to get out because something would be exploding today. She also said that the guy was in the dean’s office because he’s actually a student. If that’s the case, my bet is he’ll be expelled.
Seriously, what is with people?
