*sighs in relief*
Jul. 2nd, 2012 05:36 pmSo, an exciting afternoon = it’s storming, you hear thunder and see lightning at the exact same time, and then you smell smoke. So you wander around your house, trying to figure out where it’s coming from, and then your little sister and you decide to check outside, to see if anything’s happening on the roof. So, your little sister takes the front, you take the back, she opens the door and shouts, “Call 911! There’s a house on fire!”
So while I called,
tigris_lilsis ran over to see if she could help.
There’s a house on fire across the street. I was the second person to call 911, the first being a construction worker who saw the lightning strike and called while running over, where he proceeded to kick down the door and make sure no one was home.
tigris_lilsis and I watched as the smoke got worse, changed color, and then flames were licking at the roof. Four fire trucks, two fire marshal SUVs, and an ambulance showed up, which caused traffic problems because two roads into our neighborhood are blocked due to construction.
The mailman kept on delivering his mail, and I could feel the heat when I grabbed ours.
It was… exciting. Holy crap.
