SAM IS LUCIFER.

God, I hope not. I wonder why Lilith was trying to kill Sam, then?

Because Sam's earthly body has to die to release Lucifer's spirit.

Maybe, but I still really, really hope not. That removes the whole human with free will part of the equation and Sam can never be the hero if he loses his humanity.

For what? To kill Sam? Cuz I don' think once he becomes Lucifer there'd be any way back to just human again.

Well, if I were writing the show, they'd both go darkside and rework the world to their will.

Exactly. This is why I have trouble with this theory or the one where Sam is the key to bring Lucifer back. If any of these were true, why would Lilith not only want to but actually try to kill Sam?
