You look just like your daddy, is the first thing he ever says to her. She never does figure out if that’s good or not.

I got two boys about your age, he says, sipping his Jack Daniels. 

 

She takes a hearty bite of her burger and answers, That’s nice while her mouth is full. 

 

He grins.

What’s Billy Harvelle’s little girl doin’ out here alone? he asks, cupping her cheek with one large, calloused hand. Shouldn’t you be at home with your mama?

 

She moves even closer, pressing in tight enough to hear his heartbeat over the noise from the next room.

He calls her Mary. She calls him Daddy. 

 

Neither of them mentions it as they dress and go their separate ways the next morning.

Mom hugs her and Ash claps her on the shoulder. She never forgets but she doesn’t think about it, until the day she shoves a gun into the back of his son.

 

She doesn’t cry. But she thinks that might be why she throws herself at Dean so hard.

 

He’s not his father, and she wishes he was.

Oh my god, I ADORE this! So wrong it's delicious! So delicious it's wrong! I love the idea that her thing for Dean is just rebounding emotion from her thing with John.

You definitely have to flesh out this very good story. It is a taste of an incredible multi chapter series. Please, please continue this. There are so few Jo/John stories that we need a good long one.

Eh, they're both consenting adults, nobody got hurt, both went away with what they needed.

And, they *understood* as they were there for the other.

Beautiful. I'm loving your tendency to go shorter even as I'm hating your tendency to make your worlds that much more circumscribed -- there aren't enough people out there painting miniatures, y'know?

Believe it or not I had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT (or at least knew nothing about it until its recent creation was brought to my attention by the mod), but I want so badly for it to be a place where that once-in-a-blue-moon Jo/John fic actually gets posted - and THIS BEAUTIFUL DRABBLE, with all its issues and Yo-world-rocking, definitely belongs there.
