So, I just watched the first two eps of "True Blood" and on the whole, I am not impressed.  I like Sam and Tara, but that's about it.  Is it worth continuing?

i've watched all of it and i'm still kinda meh, although for me in the second season, sam, sookie's bro jason, and another vampire eric all got pretty interesting...

Haven't watched it, but many on my flist do and I've read several reviews. Mostly sounds missable to me, but the plot in season 2 with Michelle Forbes as a Maenad sounds interesting.

My main problem is all the rampant sex. I get that it's an HBO show, but honestly, is it that necessary?

Honestly? I spend a lot of time fast forwarding through the sex. Tara is ridiculously annoying once her mother is part of the picture. Sam's is really the only storyline that's interesting to me. The biggest problem for me is, much as I like Anna Paquin, I don't think Sookie and Bill are even remotely interesting as a couple. Eric is a lot more fun.

It's a popcorn show to me. I watch, but I have to fast forward. As long as you don't watch it in any other way, you're fine.

Stay for Sam, Tara, Lafayette and Erik they're the reason to watch. Especially in Season 2.

I much preferred Paquin in X-Men. She just gets on my nerves as Sookie. I'll give the second disk a chance, but if it doesn't get better, I'm gonna move on.

Sam and Tara are so interconnected and don't realize it that it's interesting to watch how that plays out over both seasons.
