So, since Sam is immune to the croatoan virus, you think his system would be able to handle all the other apocalyptic illnesses that ravage the world in various movies?

Also, Imma handwave that Dean can, too.  Something to do with being angelic vessels, maybe.  Their bodies are hardwired to survive.

No, I'm not writing a fic.  Really.

(Stop looking at me like that.)

When we first saw the trailer for 5x04, my assumption was that all the 'survivors' in Dean and Castiel's camp were angelic!vessels who were immune to the virus, or else the abandoned vessels of the angels who left (also immune to the virus).

not familiar with other movies although i know there's a rage-virus one and vampires/zombies/etc
i think sam would be immune to demony viruses because of his infusions of demon blood, but not normal end-of-the-world diseases like swine flu and ebola and other highly infectious things. so for me in the case of a rage-virus type thing that was created by demons/lucifer/fallen angels/angels it would be easy to believe that sam has immunity, and he is a strapping young man so maybe he'd be extra-healthy, but not so much to regular diseases.

and dean might, as a resurrected human who is not a normal vessel (cas thought he'd be a special human who could perceive angels but he wasn't) be immune to
1. nothing not even chickenpox because he's all new with factory settings
2. angelic-originated pathogens
3. demonic viruses, possession, general evil
4. everything and has a magical healing c*ck too

write a story!

Not so weird. Dean carried in the dead Crote in Croatoan and didn't get ill, where the nurse, who'd be familiar with not getting infections and hygene protocols did.

TPTB were careful not to specify which Winchester was immune. I never it saw it implied or stated she was possessed by a demon in the ep or interviews or commentaries.

The nurse went down when shot by normal bullets, which we have never seen a demon do, ever. Demons have always been shown to be resiliant to such things.

Also, she infects (or tries to) Sam by cutting herself and cutting Sam. If demons are resiliant to all the things that affect humans, I can't see how one would be able to be a carrier for a disease, even a demon one.

The nurse acts crazy and aggressive. Demons don't act that like that. They can't shut up about how clever they are.

My take? Had she been a demon, not a Crote, she'd have whammied Sam and stabbed him with a syringe of infected blood that was drawn from the dead body they brought in/the infected mother, while boasting about how smart the demons where and how they were going to take over the world. Because the demon are always trying to take over the world.
