Prompt: Lucifer, He's not the bad one. (whether its in his mind or not, up to you)

Once, he felt loved. Felt secure and content nestled in his father's arms, cradled to his father's chest.

But then his father created new children, lesser beings. Not as gifted or as powerful or as beautiful. And his father, his perfect and magnificent and glorious father, told him to kneel before those puny and pathetic beings as if they were his father themselves. And his father made one more thing, a creature of light and radiance that shone incandescent, and his father called that thing Son and it was better, it was stronger, it was more than he could ever hope to be—

And he was no longer content. He was hurt and he was angry and he refused to bow to anyone but his father, his benevolent and loving father, and in return, his father cast him down low, told him to leave and never come back, told him that he had sinned and walked too proud.

He still loved his father, and maybe his father still loved him. But along with that love, he felt what would one day be known as hate.

(And in those later eons, when he meets Sam Winchester, he realizes that the vessel truly is a reflection of that confused and angry boy he used to be, when his father ceased to cradle him and chose another favorite, and he smiles at Sam Winchester and knows that this time, finally, they’ll do more than shake his father’s throne.)

Prompt: Azazel, not just Lucifer's lackey

In The War, he fought proudly at Lucifer’s side. He carried Lucifer's flag and he took wounds for the LightBringer, for their glorious leader, for the one who dared defy their creator's will—

No, not their creator. The tyrant. Lucifer—not yet Lucifer, still Sammael in Heaven—told them that they were self-begot, that they should not bow.

He fought and was thrown from Heaven into their prison. And after the Son died for Man, when Lucifer, their brilliant and radiant king, was caged, when all others gave up hope and tried only to annoy the Thunderer instead of shaking him from his self-righteous throne, Azazel alone made a plan to release his lord and savior.

And he succeeded.

Prompt: Alastair[/author's choice], author's choice

He does not remember the name he had in Heaven. He does not recall how bright he shone, how much he loved their father, how he stood before Sammael and so righteously declared their father's magnificence.

He does not remember the later years after Sammael became Satan, after Michael led the first humans from the Garden, after Lilith appeared and caught Satan's eye.

He does not remember when he grew weary of Heaven's perfection, of the singing and the praising and everything.

He does not remember the first time he doubted or how he took those doubts to Michael and asked for explanations, for reassurance. He does not remember Michael's sadness. He does not remember the second doubt, or the third, or the one that finally expelled him from Heaven, when he dared to ask if maybe Sammael had the right of it, when he began that war.

He does not remember the early days in Hell, when his wings blackened and fell off, when he looked at the souls trudging around wailing and thought someone should give them something to bemoan.

But he remembers when he first picked up the razor and fashioned a rack of fire and bone and chose the first soul to stretch upon it.

He remembers when Satan approached him on the edge of the burning lake, as he slit open a soul and scooped the innards out. He remembers when Satan asked, "What's your name, brother?"

He remembers when he considered and chose, "Alistair."

(In Heaven, Michael weeps the first angelic tears and murmurs, "Abdiel.")

Notes: companion to "

"Well now," he says, examining the 'man' trying to join his crew. "Ain't seen one'a your kind in a long while."

He walks around the man, studying him from every angle. "What was your name again?" he asks.

The man stares down at him, trying to mask his desperation. “Hannibal King,” he repeats. Jack’s old enough to know he’s actually screaming I have to get off this rock.

“No bitin’ any’o my crew ‘less’in they ask for it,” Jack tells him. “Savvy?”

Hannibal King, the prettiest man he’s seen since dear William, nods earnestly.

Jack smirks, stepping in close. “You’ll be sleeping in my quarters tonight, boyo. That alright with you?”

Hannibal inhales and sighs. “Yes sir, Captain,” he whispers, barely grazing Jack’s skin with his lips.

“Come on, then,” Jack says, spinning in place. “Let’s get back to the Pearl.”

His newest crewman follows half a step behind and Jack can smell salt on the air.

Prompt: Castiel, defying gravity

Watching the Winchester brothers, Castiel knows that all he has done—will do—in their name is worth it. Let Zachariah and Raphael, (Uriel) even Gabriel, though he is far more human than Castiel can remember he was in Heaven, let them all wonder and question, condemn and blame.

Let them throw him from Heaven, let them curse his name, let them rip his wings and cast him low.

Watching the Winchester brothers forgive and move on, though there will be no forgetting, Castiel knows beyond all doubt—and doubt, what an intriguing feeling, doubt and love and marvel—what he has done here, now, choosing... he is right.

He flies alone, for the moment, guide and guardian for his brothers' humanity. He flies alone, but others will come unite, he knows it. The Winchester brothers’ call is too great to ignore, their incandescent light—the greatest of all Father’s children.

Watching the Winchester brothers, Castiel folds his wings close and waits.

It's always fun to read your Paradise Lost/Supernatural snippets. They're a little scary, a little skewed from the standard fic, and a lot awesome.

(PS, The small tag didn't close after the note on 'just like home')

(The font went small for the note, and then it stayed small for the rest of the last two ficlets. Except it doesn't seem to be happening now and font size is normal throughout, so nevermind.)

I love your Paradise Lost/Supernatural snippets. I am going to look for more. Also have you ever thought of doing a Lucifer(comic)/Supernatural cross over. I'd love to see your take on that.

It started as an offshoot of Sandman.Basically Lucifer decides to give up his office as the ruler of hell, gave the keys to Dream and opens a piano bar in L.A.. It chronicles his becoming a creator of his own cosmos, Armageddon and everything else fun.
And its much better than my summary of it LOL! If you are interested and ever want to read it I have it on mediafire.

Well if you want to start reading from Sandman I have all the volumes and most extras here (http://www.mediafire.com/file/hm7zamyzn1y/Sdmn_v1.rar).

I love both Sandman and Lucifer and don't want to download them from torrent every time I want to reread them so I keep them on mediafire. If you want the rest I wouldn't mind sharing
