Prompt: Supernatural, Michael & Sam, the Devil named Lucifer is gone and all that remains is the new Morningstar

He is burnt, inside and out, scoured clean of all the taint. Lucifer is gone as if he'd never been, his name ripped from the stars. None may speak of him now, never again.

The Morning Star has set, Michael announces, the last time anyone will make mention of him for the rest of eternity. The Evening Star rises.

Sam Winchester sits on a throne in Hell, a white crown on his dark hair, a pack of hounds at his feet, and demons bowed low, far as the eye can see. The Evening Star sees far.

The Evening Star rises! Michael calls to his legions. Prepare for war.

"Cas?" Dean shouts desperately, turning in place to see if he's answered the summons. "Castiel, please! Cas, Cas, c'mon, Cas! I need you. Please, I need you!"

To war! the Evening Star commands, voice thundering through the deep. Burn Heaven down.

Michael spreads wide his wings, sword in hand. He leads the charge.

Sam meets him head-on, and fights in a way the previous king never did. Michael is not his brother. Michael is easy to kill.

At the end, as Heaven burns, the Evening Star shines brightly, and his brother stares at the sky, waiting for an angel who will never reply.

Prompt: Criminal Minds, Unsub!Hotch/Unsub!Reid, the perfect gift for his lover

Every time Aaron's birthday rolls around, Spencer wishes he hadn't already killed every member of his family. Aaron is so hard to shop for; if anyone from his childhood was still alive, Spencer would know the perfect gift from the get-go.

But no. Aaron killed them all before faking his own death, so now Spencer has to wrack his brain each year.

Not that he minds all that much, really. Aaron does something elaborate for Spencer's birthday, and picking out the perfect thing can be fun. Seeing Aaron's face is always a thrill, and leads to the best sex.

This year must be spectacular. Spencer watches Aaron walk over to the bed, noting his slight limp. His leg isn't fully healed from that close call in Cleveland, almost six months ago. Agent Morgan, one of the FBI goons chasing them, got lucky.

Oh, yes. That could be splendid. Aaron hasn't been given an actual heart yet.

"Come to bed, Spence," Aaron says.

Spencer smiles, turning off the lamp as he stands.

Agent Morgan is home in Washington. Spencer will go fetch him sometime next week (he'll make a detailed plan later, when Aaron isn't hard at work with his fingers and tongue) and then take him apart, piece by piece, and present him to Aaron.

Perfect.

Title: Speak as they please, what does the mountain care?
Fandom: Highlander
Disclaimer: not my characters; title from Browning

Rating: PG
Wordcount: 300

Prompt: Highlander, Methos, Adam Pierson has a day job but sometimes Methos can't resist using skills that Adam doesn't have.

Adam Pierson is a thirty-four old doctor of linguistics. He's also a six year old immortal.

Adam Pierson can speak a dozen languages like they're his native English, is conversational in twenty more, and muddle his way through seven others. He can read all of the Indo-European languages with ease.

Adam Pierson is Duncan MacLeod's newest student, and he does not have MacLeod's fighting skill. He's been lucky, so far: he hasn't needed to fight. He's mediocre with a sword. If he gets in too close, he will die.

Adam Pierson's Watcher doesn't think he'll last long.

0o0

Dr. Pierson works at the British Museum. He's translating a tablet (or, trying to; the language has yet to be identified) and he was in a fight last night. His Watcher reported it: Pierson won his first challenge only by the skin of his teeth. He defeated a two-century old drifter. He's been odd this morning – short-tempered, cautious, nervous. His colleagues have asked him what's wrong; he said family troubles and threw himself into his work.

Even the most senior of Pierson's colleagues would require two lifetimes, maybe more, to translate the tablet. It is a language that died out over ten thousand years ago. It has no similarities to any language still in use.

It is, in fact, a prank played by the world's oldest man. He carved the tablet three hundred years ago and left it by the megalith called Stonehenge, just to see what the baby-archeologists would make of it. They're still scratching their heads, giving all the newbies this tablet to play with.

If Pierson actually was thirty-four, actually was six, he'd never know what this tablet said.

If he hadn't written it himself, he'd have no idea.

He just finds it humorous that the joke is still funny.

Prompt: BBC Sherlock, John, jumpers

There's an art to being underestimated. John learned that at school. Wear innocuous clothing and no one expects you to knock them down with one punch, or beat them so viciously they won't walk for months.

John knows that he's not a large man. But he's quick, and he's sure, and he's really good with a gun. Really good without a gun, too, but to look at him – you'd never know it.

And the clothing he chooses to wear is a large part of that. Death in a fuzzy jumper… well. He tags along beside Sherlock, always on guard, and eyes pass right by him. He does so love being underestimated.

Prompt: Greek mythology, Medea, poisoned crown
Note: It's been awhile since I saw anything of Medea that wasn't a mediocre movie, so this is a bit tiny, and possibly completely out of character.

This world shall be hers, and everything in it. Whether she poisons gowns or crowns, or the very throne - all will kneel before her and feel the bite, the sting, the certainty of her grip around the realm, the sky, the ocean.

First this puny little palace. Then the gods who scorned her, as she takes Olympus and the tempestuous children who think they rule there.

I love the idea of Methos leaving stray tablets around various historical sites just to fuck with people. Seriously, giggling here.

The CM one was so perfectly creepy. Loved it :D

Ah, the Highlander story... of course you develop a certain kind of humor as an immortal. Now I wonder about the tablets from Mohenjodaro/Harappa time a bit more XD *cough*

And the Sherlock one - I can easily see this, because John doesn't really have even a threatening face *aww* ...but it absolutely makes a good secret weapon :D

Yay for Methos being sneaky. I do like the contrasts between Methos and Adam.

Also love the Sherlock one - I think you have highlighted the possible darker side of John beautifully.

I like.

methos smirking over that kind of prank makes me giggle
dean waiting for a castiel that doesn't come and ignorant of what his 'brother' has done makes my breath catch
reid's idea of a present is chilling
and, oh yeah, john has fuzzy jumpers as a camouflage...makes sense

I really do like your snippet of John's character! I think people do underestimate him, partly because of his height, and partly because of those jumpers.

Thanks for sharing!

Haha! Methos FTW! I gotta wonder what the joke says. I'd love to know what else that Watcher is gonna think as the years pass, and Adam Pierson fails to die in short order as predicted.

I love the minimal style of the CM entry (sorry, I don't read the other fandoms). The bluntness and wry humor are very refreshing. Fave line? All of them, but especially this:

Aaron hasn't been given an actual heart yet.

It's always been my own personal head canon that Methos does things like that..... I can easily see him, a thousand or more years from now, making up stuff about the current culture, just for kicks.

And I love Death-in-a-fuzzy-jumper!John.... That's actual canon, I don't even have to make it up!
