Is anyone else getting slammed by spambots in LJ comments?  Like, I can't think of what else they might be.  The only person they've got friended is themselves, and I got six different LJs leaving me one comment apiece, on six different entries in my LJ.  I'm not sure what language it is, either. 

And this after weeks of leaving me comments at the different comm entries where I posted links back to the fics.

Yeah, I've definitely had more issues with spambots this week than usual (though I've noticed they tend to crop up in bursts, sometimes on community posts and sometimes at one of my actual journals). Spambots for sure, though. Plugging the text into a language translator showed they were trying to pass as actual comments, but always vague and out-of-context enough that there's no way they're comments from a human being.

I've been using the delete-and-ban function a lot, but so far I haven't found any way to prevent the comments in the first place.

I wouldn't say slammed, but I've gotten two that seem like spam. One was in Greek, the other in Russian - that was a few weeks ago though.

It was in Greek maybe. Or Cyrillic.

I've been getting both over the past few weeks. I just discovered the 'delete and ban' button this morning, though. That was kinda fun.

I've gotten a couple lately, and marking as spam every chance I catch it. The ones I've gotten were in Russian.

I was going back to the comms and marking/deleting, but it got too annoying.

I had like four or five in one week. Very annoying, but I just block and delete now.

This is one reason why the communities I keep have 'membership needs to be approved' kind of function on in them. :P

I found the ban button yesterday! It was a little fun.

I wish there was a way to keep just spam from getting through on normal LJs.

I have NO IDEA dude. If there are links I can't even tell what they're to because I didn't get too far in Russian.

Of course, I don't understand computer viruses, either. Hacking, yes - but how does killing someone else's computer give a person anything? Besides a sick sort of pleasure, I mean.
