Dark Knight Rises/Batman question

Why is it that the Dark Knight Trilogy is the only Batman fandom in which I don't really care about Bruce Wayne/Batman at all? I realized that a little while ago - he kinda bores me in those movies.

I mean, Batman is one of my all-time favorite characters. It doesn't really matter what 'verse of his I'm in. He's always interesting. Except in the Nolan movies. And I don't know why.



Also, could someone please explain to me why I just wrote a 1500ish word fic about Aaron Cross and William Brandt being twin brothers? It was exceedingly hard to not make them both into Clint Barton at the end.

Same here on the Dark Knight Batman. So far, in the first one I was most interested in Scarecrow's story, the second in Commissioner Gordon's arc, haven't seen the third yet. I find Bale's Batman growl extremely irritating, and his Bruce rather bland, but I don't know if that's why I find the other characters more interesting, or there's an unusual variation of focus in Nolan's stories, or what.

Re: Clint Barton and Aaron Cross and William Brandt. I haven't seen two of the movies involved, but.... Why can't they all be the same person? The twin brother thing might be a delusion. ;-D

I've only seen the middle movie of this trilogy Batman, but I did notice that I didn't really care about him. A bit like the effect of that key in the Doctor Who Mr Saxon episodes, my mind just kept focusing off to Joker's actions XD
But even though I've only seen that one, I like John Blake and the Scarecrow (yay Cillian *lol*). ::)

Oh, yes, the Batman voice is hilarious. That might be why - I can't take him seriously.

I can wait though, no big deal. I don't know if I've seen all the previous Bourne movies, and I know I haven't seen at least one of the prior Mission: Impossible movies, but I'll see the new ones eventually.

I saw a preview of DKR and busted out laughing at the Batman voice. I liked Bale in 'Reign of Fire', but have no desire whatsoever to see this movie.

They pretty much explain what's going on, since Bourne Legacy is basically happening at the same time as the third movie. And I haven't seen the first two Mission Impossible movies in awhile, and I've never seen the third - but Ghost Protocol is a lot of fun.

I've seen talk about him in other communities, maybe read in other places, so one kind of can know some bits though I probably don't know everything :)

The villains are, one and all, far more interesting than Bruce. Might have to do with the fact that, imo, CB is kind of a bad actor. I've seen furniture that emotes better than he does.

I did like him in Batman Begins, but the two sequels? He was so overshadowed.

... I think you might be right about Christian Bale. I've never thought about it before, but I'm always watching Christian Bale and not the character he's supposed to be. Huh.

I noticed when I watched the latest Terminator. I kept sitting there and thinking, Why is Batman in that movie? He sort of... bends the characters to portray him, instead of him bending to portray the characters.

I haven't seen Batman Begins in an age. Maybe I should rewatch it, but Katie Holmes gives me hives.
