I’m watching this documentary on stuntwomen and these two women just started talking about periods like it’s, I don’t know, this normal thing that happens to women, and bodily functions that women have and I just had to pause and think, like, it is so cool. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually seen a scene like this in anything else.

One of the swimmers from China during the recent Olympics did a similar thing during an interview and caused a brief tizzy among the sports community, I heard.

Ack! No, no, people were saying how great it was.

The sportscasters here were really supportive about it being a perfectly natural thing that there's no reason not to mention other than taboo. Here's an article about the swimmer that mentions she's gotten a lot of positive press about it in China as well.
