I think I love that first part. Hate medical personnel, but love those eight sentences otherwise.
The second part's okay, too, with the mirror-talk taking the cake, because it's just perfectly on the blade's edge of (not/) being wincest.
Slanted mirror, faulty mirror... Yes, I'm easily amused by random things.
Also? There's a duality to this I'm not sure was intentional. The first part keeps bringing to my mind a serene dawn, filled with promise. The second's kind of dark, even though the love's there, but that's just like a single taper in the middle of a the night. And that's something to like about this.
