In the eyes of one she sees that beautiful blonde, dead from warnings that went unheeded. In the other—
He holds up a mirror and Mary sees herself, sees everyone she’s ever destroyed. The guilt swells and breaks over her head, swamping her with decades of memories. She wishes she could still cry, but all she can do is groan and sink inward.

Date: 2007-07-20 01:16 pm (UTC)On the upside, I totally was inspired by that. LOL. Thought up a whole fic based on it. So, I'd like have flashbacks in the little boys' POV, have one be the big brother, like Dean, the other a little Sammy.
In the present, Sam has the dream, only it's the future, and in this future, he didn't save Dean from the deal. He saved his soul, but couldn't have him alive, too. So, Dean's in Heaven, and Sam finds that not good enough, really, so he's never really gotten over the guilt, still hates his powers and what they've taken from him. And in his dream, Dean comes and shows him the boys. Of course, they're long dead, but he shows them to Sam the way they were, the way they spent their last days or hours, and at the end, when Sam finds the bones, and they are released, they go together into Heaven, and he knows Dean's waiting there for him, too.
*sob* I broke myself.
I totally gotta write that now, and you know I have plenty to write already...
