Bobby knows far more than he’s ever let on. He knows exactly what Sam is, what’s in John’s blood, why Mary had to die, why Jessica couldn’t live once Sam realized how deeply he loved her.
He sees in Dean something John and Sam never had, but Mary did. He bets Jessica did, too.
John is a creature of the darkness, though he doesn’t know it. And John’s blood overwhelmed Mary in their younger boy. But Dean—he has sunshine in his smile, in his eyes.
Mary and Jessica would have kept John and Sam in the light, and only John’s blood in Dean has let him live so long. The darkness never lets its children go. Its claim is forever.
Bobby knows, has always known. And he’ll help John’s boys, because Dean has a light like Bobby’s never seen before. Maybe, if he shines bright enough, he’ll save Sam.
Maybe, Bobby helping these two will make up for all those he left to die.

No pain. Too quick for the pain to register, and his brother fell without even knowing what happened.
But he’s still alive, and he feels enough pain for them both.

This one watches them, her pack of strays, wondering what has led them to this. Four wolves that did well alone, brought together, clinging to each other as the world tries to tear them apart.
Kiba, this one’s chosen, the wolf that woke this one up—so brave a wolf. He will be sad when this one goes.
Tsume, so proud, so strong, so broken inside, where this one cannot heal him. If he would let his pack in, they could—but he is so wary of again trusting that much.
And Hige, the jokester, so thoughtful, so knowing. This one basks in his presence, like sunlight.
Toboe, the hopeful pup—so sweet. He does not yet know the world. It will mark young Toboe before long. He will need his pack to lift him when reality beats him down.
This one watches her pack—four wolves and one flower maiden, on the way to Paradise, humans and hunters and a war at their back.
This one knows she will not see her garden. She is content, because her wolves, her brothers and her love, will.
This one sits in sunlight, her pack stretched out around her, and she dreams.

This fic hurts, even if I do believe I should've already gotten used to the idea of the boys, or at least one of them, dying.
There's bitterness and so very human fallibility in this short piece it can't do anything but hurt.
I'm sorry I'm not commenting on the other ficlets, but Wolf's Rain is a complete stranger to me.
