            No. It never was. He’s the red herring, the wild-goose chase. And your father fell for it, hook… line… sinker. Good job, m’boy. You’ve come to me. At last, here you are.

            So, what’s the point? I’m nothing special.

Awesome. I love fics where Dean is much more then anyone realized. I wish Kripke would do something nearly this kickass.

Fics that explore this theme are one of my favorites. :)

Based on what another comment said about Pride heading for Sam: Seems like that was his main sin. Dean's was lust, obviously, But Sam with all his angsting seemed to make it all about him. It's oversimplifying, of course, but still.

Dean has been fairly ignored mythos-wise, which grates somewhat because he's one half of the main cast, but that may change. There is a Big Bad that wants his soul for something after all.

I know a little more than that from spoilers, but obviously won't divulge it unless someone wants me to.
