That's an interesting idea. There are a ton of possible fics that could come out of this.
I just hope they don't get codenames, 'cause that would be tacky. Junior students don't necessarily get them anyway.

Points to consider:
Is it common knowledge that they come from Manticore, or does Professor X keep it a secret and tell the rest of the school that they're regular mutants?
Does he even let on to the twins that he knows?
If it's a secret, who is most likely to discover it? A well-meaning roommate, or an intuitive teacher like Jean Grey?
Are Manticore and the Committee that controls it connected to the Weapon X program?
And/or are they connected to HYDRA (which has several offshoots such as AIM, THEM, and the Secret Empire)?
How sane is Ben?
How long have the twins known each other?
Transgenics and mutants are similar in that some look like regular humans with extra powers, and others are visually bestial.

Oh, I almost forgot the issue of seizures/tryptophan, and whether or not mutants are public knowledge.

Multiple authors could write fics from this latest idea, Tigriswolf. You're really inventive.
