ninth of the icon-drabbles
not my characters; just for fun.

She looks familiar, like they’ve met before, but he can’t place her. She fumbles her words, shy and awkward, and he’s charmed. He wants to take care of her, to make her smile, because she has a beautiful smile.
He invites her to wait, to listen to his next song. After that, maybe, she’ll say yes when he asks her to get a pint with him.
He wants to make her laugh, to watch her face light up with that smile. And she looks so familiar… maybe they met in another life.
He’s glad he’s met her in this one.

You know...secretly I really hoped that in the end...you know when the movie ended..and the untold story bit after it was all said and done...that she and William got together...although that would make things a little weird if their parents hooked up.

Eh, having read the book I knew she wasn't meant to be with Daniel...although his lack of a filter proved funny at times.

It just felt to me that she was always meant to love an irishman...and William...well, she really clicked with him.

Yeah...I heart Kathy Bates!

He actually doesn't exist in the book...he was put there purely for movie purposes.

Because in the book, if I'm not mistaken since it's been MONTHS since I've read it, Holly doesn't really have many dating options, I think she may have hooked up with someone in Ireland but it wasn't William...she hangs out with Daniel, who in the book in a club owner not someone working for her mother, and if I'm not mistaken the only real similarity from how holly ends up in the book to how she was in the movie...was that she realized that she missed out on Daniel but it was for the best because he's too good of a friend. The book pretty much ends with her not really having any relationship opportunities unlike she had in the movie.

Oh no it's really good book. I mean when you read it you're completely ok that she doesn't end up with anyone....trust me..you need to read the book...it dives WAY more into Gerry's making of the letters and everything.

Aww, it just about made my day to see this. I adored the movie so much (have seen it twice), and I am 3/4 of the way through the book. So good! (The book, the movie, your drabble *g*)

OMG this was really cute. I just saw the movie today, recently finished the book, loved both, thank you so much for writing/posting this! Very well done. Do you know where I can read more drabbles and such from this fandom?

You have no idea how happy I was to see this...I've been searching and searching for fics for this since I saw the movie yesterday and fell in love with it(I'm going to be reading the book soon ^^). This was very well done...William's a good character.

I'm usually all for the whole one-true-love thing but I could definitely understand her at least sleeping with William because he's Irish(as weird as that may sound)and it would be so familiar when she was lonely...

Anyway, very well done. :)

If anyone else knows of any more fics for P.S. I Love You I would absolutely adore you if you'd let me know...(I'm thinking about doing one(ha. more like five with the amount of ideas I get.)myself but I'd love to read some right now...

I watched this movie for the second time yesterday, and in addition to needing to listen to Flogging Molly immediately (though most of their songs are far more hardcore punk than "If I Ever Leave This World Alive," which was featured toward the end of the film) I needed Holly/William fiction. Who doesn't love an Irishman - particularly when it's Jeffrey Dean Morgan? <3 Adorable little drabble.
