Am I the only person in the world who would prefer having John back to keeping Bobby in the show?

Also, does anyone know where I can watch or snag A Ring of Endless Light, Jared Padalecki's movie?

I do love Bobby, and I'm always glad to see him... but oh, I want some more John! I'd like to see John back so we could see some John and Bobby interaction-- which fanon has made much of, but we never see in canon-- I don't think we even get to see Bobby's reaction to John in AHBL2. We know there was history from Bobby's intro episode, but it'd have been cool seeing the two of them working through some hunt or another.

I would also love like burning some flashbacks in a future episode that takes place during the Stanford years-- Dean and John on a hunt. Bring back JDM!

YES! I want to see this SO MUCH. I really wish they could get JDM back for an episode.

I love Bobby madly, though.

See, this is why I'm hoping that in the Origins comics we'll get to see how John met Bobby...I mean it was fairly obvious that by the time that Sam was 8 and Dean 12/13 that they'd known Bobby for a while, so I wanna see that.

AND I'd love to see John and Dean hunting together...maybe we'll get to see that in the last set that pick ups right before Dean goes to pick Sam up from Stanford!

Bobby may be the surrogate father and an awesome character in his own right, but John brings so much more to the show, in complexity of character and family dynamics. Also, way hotter. (Didn't Javier Bardem look just like JDM at the Oscars tonight?)

DUDE!

I was just thinking that! Even his low, gravelly voice.

Wow, he gave me shivers.

Yes. His voice, the beard, the eyes (I like me a beardead man :D). There's something sweet in his gaze. The man's sex on legs.

In that new interview with JP going around, he mentioned that JDM would like to come back. But who knows, seems JDM is super busy lately.

And why must we choose between them?

Why must it be one or the other? I want John back ... so he can keep pissing Bobby off. And both Sammy and Dean to have to play peacemakers ... in flak vests!

There are links to download AROEL here (http://zinah.livejournal.com/4541.html) in [livejournal.com profile] zinah's LJ.

But they aren't working. Maybe you could contact her?

And I agree with some of the others. I'd like John AND Bobby.

I'd like to have them both. I love that Bobby gives Dean that affection he obviously craves, but John gave so much to the dynamic between Dean and Sam and to the show. Shame that JDM is so often busy with his career, otherwise I think Kripke & Co would have him back in a blink :(

I don't know about John and Bobby... I'd love to have JDM back for some flashbacks, though. Or, you know, back for whatever reason.

The longer Bobby's around, though, the less likely his continued survival will be, methinks. I've been mentally trying to prepare myself for his inevitable death throughout the Season Three...

But I can't really choose between the two.

Not at all. I do love Bobby, but in no way does his story with the boys come any close to the power of the story/chemistry between Dean, Sam and John. I certainly want Bobby to stick around, but in a capacity where his presence has merit to the story, rather than him just being called up for help all the time as the boys now seem incapable of doing any research for themselves.

What I REALLY want is flashbacks. Although I doubt JDM will ever come back, I think a great way to give Jared and Jensen more time off would be to cast teen actors and explore some of the time pre-stanford.

Dude. No way I can choose. I mean, I LOOOVE John and also lust after him and all that stuff, but Bobby is Bobby. I won't choose. We'll have them both.

Now if only Victor could be added to that ensemble...

John was a great hunter but a poor father, so I like Bobby much better. Most of the time that John is onscreen I want to give him a severe talking to. I think his death was the right choice for the show.

I watched 'A Ring of Endless Light' on Disney Channel. It's based on a book by Madeleine L'Engle, part of the Chronos series. Chronos is connected to her other famous series, Kairos, which includes 'A Wrinkle in Time'.

Disney shows it every billion lightyear or so, far as I can tell. :/ I never paid too much attention to it.

Mmmm, Bobby's going on the Season Ritual Chopping Block. I can already tell. And, hell, I'd be happy if they brought John back via a crack episode or flashback. Or if they'd show us the night Sam left, that I really want to see.

Use that high tech motion capture thing they did for Gollum in Lord of the Rings, except instead of Gollum, have it be Baby!Jared from Gilmore Girls, and instead of Andy Sirkis, Big!Jared now!
