Midnight vanished in late February last year, so the last day of the year, once we were sure he wasn't coming back, we went to the pound. I picked out a petite tortishell queen, because I couldn't handle another tuxedo tom. I wanted to name her Isabeau, but tigris_lilsis misheard it as "Isabel". She and tigremere overruled me.

She was my cat, most of all, just like Midnight had been. *sigh* I want them both back.

I'm so, so sorry, love. There's nothing quite like a little bundle of fur that can stretch itself to cover the whole couch, and purr like there's nothing wrong in the world...

A couple nights before, she curled up in the space between my shoulder and head, and we both went to sleep.

A few weeks ago, I complained about her sleeping on my neck, stretched out to purr in my ear.

I really want her back.
