tigriswolf: (angry!Ben)

This would've ended up Alec/Joshua.  Possibly more than onesided, I'm not sure.

When people speak of puppy love, they don’t think of him. They imagine young boys with adorable crushes on little girls. They see children. They see humans.
And that is something he cannot claim to be.

He was the first. Father fashioned him as from clay, took his own blood and mixed it with various others. He does not fully understand what Father did, but he remembers how it hurt, realizing they were not the same.
Father was Father, untouchable, perfect in his eyes.
His first memory is of Father holding him, cradled in his arms. “I name you Joshua,” he said, stroking the back of Joshua’s neck. “And you are my special boy.”
A few weeks later(though he did not yet understand time) Father introduced Isaac, his younger brother.
“Take care of him, Joshua,” Father told him. “He is yours to look after.”
Joshua took those words to heart.

Many more children followed them, each gifted in his or her own way. Joshua helped them all. Father called him special, praised him endlessly; Joshua basked in the glow. He would do anything Father asked.

And a small Ben ficlet.  Not sure where this was going.  It's very hampered by the fact that I've only seen two complete episodes from season one that aren't "Pollo Loco".

If all you know is killing, is it truly wrong? If stealing lives is what you were made for, trained for, taught to do—can it be considered evil?
            Can you be considered evil?

You tried to like the ‘good’ life. You tried to turn your back on your training, on the predator in your blood. You tried, really you did.
But you were made to kill. You are a hunter. It cannot be escaped.
You worship Her, your goddess, but She tells you that you are not good enough, now that you have turned your back on your calling. You no longer are worthy of Her aid.
So you resume the life you never felt comfortable leaving. You track and follow and watch, choosing opponents worthy of the hunt.
After you have defeated them, you take their teeth for Her.

And for a long time the guilt is held at bay. You are a hunter, a predator, a killer—mercy and regret are two things you were never taught to feel. For Her you resumed the hunt; for Her you steal lives.
Everything for Her, and She gives you nothing back. And deep down, a part of you wants it to end.
And who better to end it then your sister?

You were the best, but she followed close behind you. You wonder where she is now.

these sent a chill down my spine; so very very bleak and sadly echoing of the characters. *sniffles* oh big fella. will you think less of me if I shamlessly beg for joshua/alec? *shifty look*
'cause I will.
just if y'know, its going that way. ^_^
But thank you for sharing these, I love your writing, you always manage to get me thinking

I hope you eventually finish the Joshua/Alec one. That's such an interesting pairing and much more believable than Max/Alec, imo (or even Logan/Alec, much as I like it, heh.) Joshua may be "different", but he's still a man, with emotional *and* physical needs; and Alec has so much going on under the surface that was finally being allowed to mature right before the show ended.

I never saw any of Ben's episodes so I don' really care about him, but the writing is good.
