Yeah.  This is, like, two years old.  I'm pretty sure it would have stayed gen.

“Wade?! Oh my god, I thought you were dead!”
Sam’s head shoots up as a tiny brunette tornado throws herself into his arms, babbling and sobbing and kissing his face. Muttering things like, “You were dead! OhmygodyouweredeadWadedeadand—” Finally, she cuts herself off and just collapses against him, sobbing up a storm.
Over her head, Sam looks at Dean, who shrugs and mouths, “Not a clue.” So Sam just rubs her back and makes soothing noises and waits for her to calm down so he can gently demand an explanation.

Carly tried to forget her time in the wax town, tried to forget Vincent, tried to forget Bo, tried to forget all the friends who died.
Nick quickly lost himself in alcohol, before realizing she was falling apart and someone had to be the strong one. He became clean even faster than he’d resumed being a drunk and took care of her in the months just after.
Finally she shoved it all away, pretended it never happened, and moved on to New York like she’d planned. Nick followed because they both needed the other now, more than ever before.
They talked about Dalton and Paige and Wade—talked and talked and talked before getting lost in their lives.
Carly got a job as a waitress in a hole-in-wall bar near their apartment, and Nick got a job as a bouncer there.
Thirteen months after their experience in the town, they’d both moved on, put it behind them.

Nick exits the bathroom and quickly heads back towards his post, glancing around to find Carly. For a moment, he doesn’t see her and the old panic starts to well up—but there she is.
                In some guy’s lap.
                Crying.
                And rage engulfs him.

Dean thinks, as he sips his water—too tired for alcohol, too much of a risk—that Sam has all the luck. No-name crying girl is slightly calmer now, the tears coming less and less, and Sam keeps on it, whispering nothings in his everything will be alright, I swear voice that has calmed hundreds before her.
Something tells Dean to move and stop the guy he can’t even see yet, that big-brother instinct he’s never once ignored. Quickly he lunges to his feet and Sam’s eyes follow him—What?
Nothing, he answers back with a nod. Keep up what you’re doing.
Okay. Be careful, Sam replies with a twist of his lips, and Dean hurries toward the guy storming towards Sam with the single-mindedness of a train.

Carly feels safe for the first time in over a year, ever since Wade died. Held gently in strong arms, the voice murmuring soothing nonsense in her ear—a part of her knows it isn’t, can’t be Wade, but for the moment she doesn’t care.
For over a year all she’s wanted was Wade back, for Wade to hold her, to tell her everything would be alright—and this man has Wade’s face and Wade’s voice and that’s all that matters.

Dean catches the guy’s arm, making it look like an accident, and causes him to fall. “Oh, dude, I’m so sorry,” he exclaims, offering the guy a hand up.
The guy’s his height, but thinner, and he looks about as weary as Dean feels. He accepts Dean’s help but starts to hone in on Sam and No-name again, so Dean grabs his shoulder and then ducks as the guy whirls around swinging.
It’s not a fight at all, and Dean pulls the guy outside after him, then shoves him away.
“What the fuck’s your problem?” Male No-name snarls, and leaps at Dean again.
Dean catches him and swiftly immobilizes him, saying, “Calm down, okay? Just calm the hell down.”

The girl finally pulls back, wiping her eyes, a nervous, embarrassed smile on her face.
“Um… hi,” she says, unable to meet his eyes.
                “Hi,” he responds. “I’m Sam.”
“Carly,” she says, sliding off his lap. “I’m so—” She looks up into his eyes.

Interesting start, I'm sorry that the sum of my knowledge of House of Wax is that it's horror movie about a house of wax and some hapless teens, one of which is Wade played by Jared Padalecki.

I saw the end of that movie at about half-two in th morning a few weeks ago, and thought to myself: "wow, I'm glad I missed the first bit." You might have turned me around on that. A little.

Indeed I did. No sign of Jared whatsoever. But I did spend a lot of time egging on the guy in the mask when Chad Michael whatshisface was stuck in that melting staircase.

Ooh. Interesting beginning. Heh - staying with gen would be fine for some Carly/Sam or non-pairing fic... but I've got to say I'm seeing the Dean/Nick in this :D This is a great idea for a crossover. Wade's death in House of Wax was pretty hard to take - it's the only movie scene I can think of that disturbed me so greatly I had to leave the room.

Ooo I really love crossovers and this one has quite the interesting start Carly mistaking Sammy for Wade and Nick being rude to Dean. I like how you can collide these characters from different worlds together. I can't wait to see what you have in store for part two.

This is really cool. I love your crossovers, especially your HOW/Devour crossover, I so ship Jake/Wade now. On a side note, I agree with the general thought that HOW was better with Jared in it. I know that I wandered off after Wade died.

Great crossovers. I love all you fics, I just don't get to comment as often as I like, with my dial-up connection and all.

Would love some more, would worship you for more Jake/Wade. Love ~Krissy

I can't be THAT addled -- Wade was alive until the END of the movie!

Remember the eyes moving and the noises? Voluntary muscles paralyzed, yes, but he was definitely alive -- remember the tear trickling down his cheek?

Hard to imagine them using another actor -- at that point, The Padalecki still had one of the narrowest post-teenage faces in creation, like a fox, and they were able to do prosthetics right on him that would have been impossible on any of the others, or on him today.

*throws hands up in the air* I ship Jake/Wade too thanks to you.

Considering how perfect House of Wax and supernatural fit together I am shocked at how few crossovers there are. Thank you for helping fix the problem.
