"Stargate: Atlantis" AU idea

 So, there's this race of people called the Children.  Each of them has an affinity for one of the four elements; some have a talent for more than one.  The most powerful with Air is their leader--called a "Lord/Lady of the Sky".  Each of them also has another form, some type of animal, that shows where their affinity lies.  

Turns out, the Ancients were descended from the Children; their 'acension' thing was simply them trying to reclaim what they once had.

Atlantis was not built by the Ancients; Atlantis created the Ancients, on the orders of the Children.  And John Sheppard is the newest, most powerful Lord of the Sky.

So, of course, the Children must return to Atlantis, to welcome their leader home.

I've come up with about four variations in my head. I can't decide, though, if the Air otherform is a blue/silver bird or a dog sized dragon.

Neat. I see what it's based on. You know, there were a lot of Sheppard-is-an-Ancient speculations back in the day.

Must be subconscious. I understand that happens with us writers.

I think it's well-written and I liked many of the characters. I've read the whole trilogy, whereas I only have one book of Black Jewels.

that is a very interesting idea and would make a really fascinating story. just wondering, have you written anything for it already or is it just one of those ideas?
