Yeah, I think of it the same way. They're two totally different things.
I think all are valid. I usually just write what first comes to mind. Most people put their iTunes or Winamp on shuffle to be more sporadic, which is a great thing when you get weird picks like Charlie the Unicorn or Bitchin' Camaro.
