I've been saying since Castiel appeared-wouldn't it be fascinating if he saved Dean on his own, and not by orders...? That would account for some of Uriel's pissy attitude, with him not wanting to turn on a brother but disapproving. That would account for the delay in saving Dean, instead of doing it right away-Cas had to sneak when the Authorities weren't looking. DRAMA! *laughs*
Even if Castiel saved Dean *because* he was ordered,he still obviously feels for him-so he's got his own motivations going on, there. THAT is canon! :D
