Four hours after you collapse on the bed
Your mind still whirls and you can’t stop laughing,
Can’t stop crying, can’t stop begging,
Can’t stop wondering where you went wrong,
Can’t stop asking why it all fell apart.
Because he walked away and didn’t look back.
Let the door slam behind him and didn’t say why.
His eyes shut you out and with a smile he turned,
Didn’t look back, didn’t tell you a thing,
Just sauntered out and you
Can’t stop asking why it all fell apart.
It’s all fallen apart.
Shattered shards, jagged pieces,
Bleeding wounds and gaping mouths,
Gasping cries and muttered curses,
And no hint of goodbye till this morning.
No hint of goodbye till he walked away.
Four hours later and you haven’t moved from the bed.
