Call the fire brigade? Use treats as an incentive? Be careful not to get little pieces of bark in your eyes when you look up and the kitten moves. Remove rocks and other dangerous things from the perimeter.
Any windows close to the tree you could open, screen and all?
If no...fire department if there's no emergencies sometimes come out and use it for ladder practice. There's also calling a roofer or a tree cutting service and seeing if they'll help out for free advertising for ... say... two weeks. (Sign on your front yard type ad, not call the local news;>)
My baby went up a tree and I went up after him, but it definitely wasn't no thirty feet to the first branch!! Yikes!! Good luck and Bast be with you!
It might help to have the kitten's favourite person go up the ladder,as I've seen a cat climb insanely high to get away from the tree man who was trying to rescue him. If you can put any leaves, branches etc. under the tree it might ease the impact if she falls. (That cat fell probably 60 feet and to our astonishment leapt up and ran away, but it was slowed by branches and the cushioning of the forest floor.)
under the tree, mattress or pillows or big plastic garbage bags with packing styrofoam peanuts or soft leaves or blankets, anything ot soften the fall, or till the ground to loosen it at the least...
as for getting the kitten down by ladder, if you can't get the fire department to show up, try to get a painting or roofing contractor to lend you their ladder for a few minutes...climb up yourself, take a carrier maybe and put some tuna in it, so the kitten can get into the carrier, or take a blanket or towel to wrap it in if you can grb it, again with the tuna as a lure, don't try to climb down with a loose kitten in your arms, it won't work...wrap it firmly int he towel or lure it into a carrier and shut it.
Me, too. She spent part of yesterday in my engine and I was terrified she'd be there again this morning, but instead we caught her in the trap and she's safe in the storeroom, away from cars and busy highways.
cars are much more dangerous to cats than trees, that is for sure. good luck in getting her friendly, perhaps she is young enough to be de-feraled and become someone's little house cat...
Leave it alone and let it come down on its own. We have nine outdoor cats at our place. All of them go up the trees and down the trees just fine without Human intervention, no matter the size, age or type. That's why God gave them claws ... and the ability to hang upside down by their toenails indefinately without getting a headache. ;)
