So, when the priest is explaining the archangel Michael(who Sam pointed out, incidentally) Dean is the only Winchester in the frame, until the mentions of demons and evil. Suddenly, Sam is in-between the priest and Dean.

Isn’t that interesting?

Show is so awesome! Sometimes I don't even think Show knows how awesome it is, lol.

Michael was the favorite fanfiction middle name for Dean, as I recall.

Wouldn't that be funny? Dean Michael and Samuel Lucien?

Samuel Luke would make more sense, especially with the whole Star Wars angle (though every time I think of the Star Wars angle I'm gonna wonder why it had to be parallels to Luke and Han, not Luke and Leia), but the one I keep hearing--which makes sense given common naming patterns, especially if it really is Dean Michael--is Samuel John.

(Oh! Thought! The reason the younger son got the grandpa's name instead of the grandma's is because either John or Mary decided they could get a two-for-one, name the first son for both Deanna Campbell and Dean Van Halen.)

Eh. Samuel John sounds better to me than Dean John, which is the other one that fits common naming patterns, though as an alternate possibility John's headstone in 2x20 has the middle initial E, so it's entirely possible that one of the boys has the same E middle name.

Oh FUCK YES that's Lady Liberty/Lady Justice OTP. Subtlety: I has it. (Cannot for the life of me recall who made the graphic, though I'm sure credit's in my userpic list.)

Kripke said he was asked by the dude designing the headstone what the E. was for and he admitted he just threw that in there because, well, he's Eric, so it's John Eric. Which. Is a little bzuh, and yet not. (He also said he wasn't sure if Sam and Dean had middle names at all but I would imagine by this late in the game the answer is probably...no. That's just my read though.)

I think Supernatural's managed to catch a real nice case of Casablanca; brilliantly amazing, partly because the people are so dedicated, but also because they just luck out over and over again.

I have been waiting for that scene to make it into a "Then" sequence since it first aired. Something about the camera angle screamed 'future previously' to me. I get the feeling I won't have that much longer to wait. *bounces*
