Prompt: SPN, Author's choice, The Crow

Dean didn't realize it, but he raised himself from the dead a mere day before the angels would have laid siege to Hell for his soul.

As he breathed his first breath in a year, shaking dirt off his shirt and hair, he glanced around. Trees were down for miles, and the only other living thing was a crow, staring at him, sitting pretty on a handmade cross.

For one long, glorious moment he didn’t remember. Then he did—Lilith and Sammy, Cold Oak, HellAlistairHellHellHell—Sammy

Calm, a deep, clear voice said in his mind. Dean Winchester, calm yourself. We have work to do.

The crow took wing and circled him. Follow me, the voice said. I can take you to food and water, and then your brother.

Sammy, Dean thought

Yes, the crow said. He needs our help, Dean. He’s waging a losing war.

Dean took a step. Then another. The aches and pains were vanishing quickly; he’d never felt so strong.

He followed the crow.

Prompt: Sam/Dean, Highlander

It comes down, of course, to them: white-eyed Sam, without a weapon in hand, and Dean, eyes as hazel as his mother's, Michael's sword clenched tight in his fist.

There can be only one, Heaven and Hell say together. Lucifer or Michael, dark or light.

Dean looks at Sam. Sam looks at Dean.

Michael gazes at his once-favorited brother, who had been the most glorious of all the angels. Lucifer stares at the one who threw him from Heaven, who refused to stand with him unbowed.

Dean lets the sword fall. "Fuck that," he says.

Sam smiles, slow and sweet.

Together, they turn to face the demons and the angels, Michael and Lucifer side-by-side.

Prompt: Dean/Castiel, orange and red leaves in fall

He has seen thousands of autumn days, in every nation of humanity. He has watched leaves tumble through the air, trod them underfoot, wondered at their fragility.

He watches now as Dean commands an army of hunters, watches as blood splashes across the dying and dead leaves, and wonders how Dean can expect to win.

He knows that Dean doesn't, but Dean never lets a hint of that leak through to his men and women, to the children daring to defy both Heaven and Hell.

Castiel has seen thousands of autumn days. Never before, though, has the chill breeze felt so final.

Prompt: evil!Dean, Dean came back from Hell wrong.

Sam knows. Ruby told him, and the last message on Bobby's machine was from Dean, and Sam knows.

But Dean's back. Dean's alive. He's got an angel brand on his arm, and a psychic said—

It doesn't matter what a psychic said, because Sam's the only one who heard.

If you're not a Winchester, Death keeps you.

Sam knows. He knows lots of things, like how to kill demons with his mind, how to banish ghosts to whatever comes next, how to damn himself so well God will never consider forgiveness.

Sam knows what it smells like when an angel burns.

"Dean," he says quietly, holding the panicking crowd at bay. "We have to go."

Dean smiles as he turns to face Sam, blood and smoke coating him. Sam ignores the stench of sulfur. “Okay,” Dean laughs, one last glance at the crowd. “But you sure I can’t play a little more?”

“Yes,” Sam tells him firmly.

When Dean still kills a couple on the way out, Sam doesn’t bother chastising him.

He knows Dean can’t help himself.

Fandom: Leverage

Prompt: Eliot’s past is not what you think it is

His daddy never hit him. Mama's still alive and kickin' it up in Florida. He sends her a postcard now and then, just to let her know he's still breathing. He's got two brothers and a sister. He makes more money than all of them combined and he sends it home; Mama makes sure to spread the wealth.

His daddy never hit him. He knows what Nate thinks, what they all think.

After all, why would someone learn to defend themselves so damned well if they didn't need to defend themselves from something?

But his daddy never hit him. He actually grew up fairly well-off, and attended a good school, and played fucking football and baseball and volunteered at a stable on the weekends whenever he had the time.

And, except for the stable, he was so fucking bored he sometimes thought about breaking heads just to liven things up a bit.

His daddy never hit him. His daddy actually died in a carwreck when he was eighteen and he used the chaos after that to split.

He sends postcards and money and never even thinks about going home.

He doesn't belong there. Never has.

These are all great. I especially love the Leverage one, which feels very right for Eliot to me.

These were all wonderful. I loved the image of Michael and Lucifer side by side. And Eliot was perfect.

So, I clicked on this just for the evil!Dean (AWESOME!), but I've gotta say I love every single one of these! 'The Brightest Star In The Sky' was so perfect, exactly what I can see happening.
And awwwwww Eliot. I just love him. :D
Thanks for sharing!

Haha yes! It's seriously the best part of my day.
Remember baby!Dean in 'After School Special'? He's like, 'I save lives, Imma hero!'
That's basically Jared spoofing.
And I seriously crack up every time I see it. :D It's in the season4 bloopers. :D

Love the Eliot drabble. Really refreshing. Just because somebody has a sore spot for an issue doesn't necessarily mean they experienced it themselves. This makes more sense to me than a big fat tortured past. (Plus this is less boring.)

Oh, those first two, YES, absolutely perfect. The Crow makes for a perfect crossover. I wish that was the S4 we got. Things would've turned out *quite* different, I think. Mmm, and Dean and Sam against everyone else, fighting together. That's how things should end. They are no one's pawns.

These were all fantastic. Really, really loved the Sam/Dean, Highlander one. Great job and an effective and awesome use of such a tiny amount of words.

I *adored* the Crow!Dean one. And Dean and Sam going "Fuck this" in the Highlander setup and facing Heaven and Hell together.

Evil!Dean reminded me a little of resurrecting Buffy--"they always come back a little wrong".

Eliot being less broken than his team thinks he is was cool.

The SPN one was wow... (sorry don't know Leverage!) I can see Sam letting Dean do whatever he wanted if he had come back wrong. It's so Sam.

Great job :)

Awesome! Usually I have read stories where they write Sam as the evil one or wronged one from Sam's choices, Ruby's influence, and Sam being alive again in the season 2 final or Pappa Winchester warning that Sam will go evil. This is an interesting concept. I can believe this especially the effect hell had on Dean even if an angel brought him back. I would love to see an AU episode of what if the older brother went evil and Sam standing beside him regardless.

I also love the Leverage one! Elliot is one of my favorites on the show. I can't believe we have too wait until January for new episodes.
