Luna finds them on a rainy Saturday, a rumpled coat over her shoulders and a postcard pinned in her hair. She smiles at them and she says, “It’ll be sunny tomorrow.”
Dean gives her his flirty smile and Sam says, “I hope so.”
Looking up at the sky, eyes open to the rain, Luna asks, “Did it hurt him, when you helped him move on?” She doesn’t believe it did, but she needs to hear for sure.
“Who?” Sam asks gently, as Dean covertly reaches for his gun. Always reaching for a weapon, he is a weapon, and she would weep, if the war had left her any tears. The sky cries for her now.
She has followed his path across the world, from one ocean to another, and this is where it ended, here in America, so far from home and all that was. She slowly raises her hand to her hair, unpinning the postcard and loosely holding it in her fingers. “You told him to leave here, and he did,” she says. “He wanted the fire he used to have, and he couldn’t find it.”
Sam tells her, “It didn’t hurt him,” and she melts into the rain.
I'd loved to have read a timestamp for fathers and sons, sadly, it seems finished in itself... Oh, I got one! It was only a drabble, but have you ever thought about actually writing the story of Eliot working for Castiel? :)
More Star Trek/Sky High superfic! (Does that verse have a name by the way?) Preferably from Bones POV sometime before his father dies. Or the Winchesters once they graduate and go into the real world. Actually, I just want more of that entire world because it's amazing!
what happens next! does dean leave sam dead in this verse, or does he still make the deal? if the latter, what happens after, because sam ~remembered right before he died...how do they interact? would it head toward a consensual relationship or how do they patch up the damage? is that even possible?
Of course Dean still makes the deal. And I actually don't think there's wincest in this 'verse, simply because I just can't see Sam ever making a move on Dean, whether Dean wanted it or not.
i don't think so, either, really, not in this one-unless you wrote a heck of a lot longer fic than you usually do, to get it all in.
it's hard to see them coming back from that damage and being as close, though. for dean to make the deal after that would pile on even more guilt for sam, i think...drive him even harder, after dean's deal is called in.
