Prompt: Push/Losers, Jensen(&/ author's choice), Jensen is really a mind wiped Nick Grant hiding from Division
Kira knew that if Nick remembered, he'd always be fighting and he'd get himself killed. He was too impulsive, even though he meant well, and it would only end badly.
"This isn't what I wanted!" Cassie shouted at her. "You've destroyed him!"
Cassie wouldn't listen to any explanation, would only ever see Kira's actions as betrayal, and she'd go out to do something stupid, intentions as good as Nick's had always been, so Kira really didn't have a choice.

Nick Grant and Cassie Holmes cease to be on a chilly autumn day. Jake and Jessica Jensen, though, are found in a wrecked car, and Kira's plan backfires because there is always a war.
Neither Jake nor Jessica remember a thing from before that chilly autumn day, but Jake has an affinity for technology and weapons, and Jessica's hunches usually prove true.
A month after they wake up shielding each other from a crash, Jessica tells Jake to enlist. He doesn't want to leave the woman who seems to be the only family he has, his little sister, but she says, trust me.
He does trust her, far more than he trusts himself. And when he eventually ends up in Colonel Clay's unit, and then they're framed and betrayed, and then Max gets involved in something called Division and a wall Jake never knew about comes crashing down in his mind—
Cassie, he thinks as he tosses aside an entire security force blocking his way to Cougar and Pooch. Suddenly, the world is sharp and bright and he knows where everything is. He had raw power as Nick, but Jake taught him precision and control, and together, together, Nick and Jake are goddamned unstoppable.
He saves his team and then uses a stolen phone to call his sister. "Nick," she sobs, "fuck, Nick."
Whatever Kira thought she was doing, it completely backfired. And Nick will tear apart Division, some day, after Jake has destroyed Max.
First, though, he needs to convince Clay that Jessica should travel with them from now on.

Prompt: Dean/Castiel, Castiel was supposed to save the Righteous Man. Instead he ending up joining his side.
A year has passed since Lilith's hounds tore Dean Winchester apart, twelve short human months. But in Hell, on Alistair's rack and beneath Alistair's razor, Dean spent ten thousand years before finally saying yes, and two thousand years at Alistair's side, learning the art of torture.
(He actually only refined a skill he already possessed, but Zachariah overlooked that.)
Castiel pulls Dean close, grips him tight, and rises from Perdition. And when Dean summons him, Castiel looks upon the man he saved and sees only Alistair's touch, the lingering traces of Hell that perhaps Father could erase, but no one else can even begin to fade.
(He is meant to be the Righteous Man's guide, lead him to Michael, show him the path and have him say yes.)
Dean is unlike any man Castiel has ever watched or guided before. Alistair's mark on him never leaves; instead it deepens, burning into Dean's soul even more. Castiel never knew him before Hell, but Sam-Lucifer's Vessel-speaks to Castiel of his fears, that something vital to Dean was either destroyed or left in Hell.
And Castiel, a low-ranked angel, sent only because he was so weak the demons wouldn't even notice him, realizes when he kills Uriel for threatening Dean, that he may have left something in the Pit, too.
(Two brothers more demon than man and a fallen angel stand against the combined forces of Heaven and Hell.
It's nowhere near a fair fight, and God has left the solar system. Both those kingdoms need a new ruler.
Two years after Lilith's hounds tear Dean Winchester apart, Sam kills Lucifer to take his throne, Castiel destroys Zachariah for command of Heaven, and Dean stands between them, smirking, Alistair's razor in hand.)

Prompt: Dean/Castiel, outsider POV of how mismatched they seem and yet it all manages to work
Dean Winchester is loud, brash, and funny as hell. He always has some smartass comment that he just has to say, though Clara has noticed that sometimes, if his kid is nearby, he bites his lip to keep the words in. And he flirts. Wow, does Dean flirt. She not sure he knows how to stop.
Cas Solomon, on the other hand, is quiet and shy. He usually only comes in if Dean does, but he checks out movies or books on a dozen different topics at a time. His favorites seem to be Biblical, and she's only ever heard him argue about the historical accuracy of some History channel documentary on Noah's ark.
That was a fun argument to overhear. Dean and the kid spent most of it trying not to laugh.
The kid. Ben Braedon. He explained to Clara once that his mom couldn't take care of him anymore, but it wasn't her fault, and so his dad and his dad's boyfriend took him in and they're awesome, if a little weird. And it's no one's business but theirs if they like to kiss, so she'd better tell him now if that'll be a problem.
The first time she saw the kid she tutored and his parents walk into the library where she worked... that was an interesting day.
Cas and Dean both interviewed her to make sure before hiring her to help Ben. And the kid got the final say. And sometimes, watching Dean and Cas, she wonders how they ever got together because they are so different. Like the nerd and jock at school.
(And dangerous. They're both so dangerous. Dean reminds of her Grandpa sometimes, because soldiers don't always come back unchanged, and war leaves scars. Cas, though... there's a look in his eyes, only a couple of times, and she spent the next three hours shivering. But neither of them ever act like she or Ben are in danger, and Ben's such a good kid.)
And then sometimes, when Cas says something completely out there and Dean doubles over with laughter, and Cas smirks because he said whatever it was on purpose, Clara gets it.

Prompt: Firefly/Numb3rs, none (no incest), even that far in the future, something in Don and something in Charlie will always find each other, one way or another
She sees the world as strands of a web, threads connecting family from the beginning to the end, and sometimes a little sideways.
Lives come and go, and she always has a brother, protective and strong, determined above all to keep her safe.
He can't keep her safe, though. She wasn't meant to be safe. She's meant to see things no one else can, meant to dance with reality and bend it and change it, because her brother has always protected her and she can.
But it's her turn now.
A dozen lives he spent hurting in her place, spent dying in her name, spent sacrificing for her.
And this life, that will end. This life, she's the warrior. This life, she'll stand between him and danger, finally pick up the weapon and strike.
She wasn't meant to be safe. But this life, she will defend him and protect him, and follow the threads of their souls to whatever end.

Prompt: Angel the Series, Lindsey, his first encounter with a vampire (and why he isn't afraid of them)
He doesn't learn her name for a long time. But she's tiny and quick and she dispatches the monster about to devour him with ease. She tells him to take better care, that she can't always be there to save his life.
He asks her what she is, gasping for breath, trying to control his panic.
She says she is a vampire, the last of her kind, and she has better things to do than save children from their own stupidity, but her hands are gentle as she helps him up, and her voice soft.
He'll later learn about slayers and wonder. He'll be told about vampires, and even meet some. None of them, though, are her equal, and unlike most of his coworkers, he doesn't fear them. He almost pities them for being so much less.
Sometimes, he thinks he loves Darla simply because of that nameless vampire who saved his life when he was a boy.
And then, on his travels before returning to LA and claiming what's his, he sees her in Paris and follows her down the street, and she smiles at him, calls him child and bestows upon him a gift. And suddenly he's faster and stronger and seeing so clear-
And she says, after pressing a kiss to his forehead, Think before you act, and be sure in any action, and know that someone watches out for you.
After Lorne shoots him, Lindsey opens his eyes and she's there, kneeling next to him, with another gift.
"My name is Sita," she finally says. "Come with me."
And he remembers, he remembers-
"Yes," he says, and she pulls him to his feet.
There is a reason Lindsey McDonald never feared vampires, and why the Senior Partners never tried to kill him. And she smiles at him, now, tells him he grew up well, and leads him into the shining sunlight.
