Is the show Castle any good?  I'm watching Monday's episode and so far it seems intriguing.

Yes, yes, so much yes! I've been watching it from the pilot, and while it has its misses, it has FAR more hits and is one of the most enjoyable shows on right now. Full of quirk, Firefly references and delicious, tasty UST.

It's awesome, if you ignore the fact that the cop lady is constantly running around in four inch spike heels. And Castle has all the adorkable qualities of a typical writer, which makes me nod along like a bobblehead.

And the daughter is kickass.

So basically, watch, pretty please, because anything you watch you turn into awesome stories and Castle needs to have awesome stories.

It's so much more than awesome, it's shiny. Nathan is delightful, the daughter is cute, the cop lady is smart, the two partners are slash-tastic and Firefly references pour like water. Just do it. There will be no regret.

Very much. It's actually climbed above Supernatural in the season pass list.

No, seriously!

I get it when she's called away from a date or something, but those heels are surreal and she stomps about in them all the time and I can practically feel my own ankles breaking when there's a chase going on and it's just evil.

Yay! You're watching Castle! \o/

Jumping in there!

Oh, the Firefly references! Nothing cracks me up like Castle wearing a Mal costume for Halloween!

Yes! Oh so awesome! You MUST watch! The family dynamic with Castle and his daugther and mother is fabulous. It's one of my favorite things about the show. The two guy partners they work with are a riot. The lady cop is ridiculously well dressed for a cop (and yes, there is much bad-guy chasing in heels). Just WATCH!

Yes! Watch! I love the relationship between Castle and Alexis (his daughter) and really all the relationships. I watch for the character interaction and not so much for the plots, which can be good too.

sorry for late reply, you probably should just watch and see if you like, the only other crime shows i've watched with any regularity are bones and criminal minds, which skew very oddly i think, and do not constitute a plethora in any case.

Alas, no. My fic interests seem to be very limited.

Oooo, I think I have a couple good ones, but a word of warning: I'm a Ryan/Esposito shipper. Sound alright?

Okay, here's SOME of the really good ones I've found. I don't have them all bookmarked.

Hold Nothing Back (From You) (http://archiveofourown.org/works/245758?view_adult=true)
There are things that bug Esposito about his partner.

Observe and Detect (http://archiveofourown.org/works/143027)
In which there is an early morning call-out, breakfast food betrayals, the pulling of pigtails, and a groove that gets lost and found.

Domesticity (http://archiveofourown.org/works/140306)
When Esposito loses his apartment, Ryan takes him in.

That Star Fall Down (http://archiveofourown.org/works/102174)
Ryan opened his mouth to give a sharp retort, but a sudden look at the expression on Esposito's face made him close it again. He looked not only pissed, but a little too invested; and there was that strange feeling in Ryan's stomach again, except this time it wasn't heavy so much as tight and clenched, threatening to choke all the air out of him. Vague S2 spoilers, but nothing huge. Kinda the definitive Ryan/Espo fic.

Evidence to the Contrary (http://archiveofourown.org/works/237993/chapters/364878)
Ah, Kev, I expect this crap from Castle, like when he got bit by our 'vampire'," Esposito favored him with full air quotes, "Or when he was convinced he got cursed by a mummy, but c'mon, you're smarter than that." Werewolf AU!
