HTML question
Mar. 6th, 2012 11:05 pmHow the hell do I turn an image into a link? I'm trying to get the Klaine Princess Diaries ready to post, so that way I can just unlock it next week (I'm scheduled to post on my third day of my new job, so I think it should all be done ahead of time.)
I have navigation bars and the HTML isn't working for previous or next, since it's being hosted on photobucket. Help?

ETA: The height, width and alt you prob wouldn't need to use, unless you were resizing your image. This code I took from a basic website I coded in school.

What's wrong with it - with brackets instead of less than/greater than:
[a href=http://tigriswolf.livejournal.com/519275.html]/][/a]

Date: 2012-03-07 05:39 am (UTC)use this link: http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss354/tigriswolf/next.jpg
and leave out the [IMG] [/IMG] that shows up

Here's what I used this time:
<img src=" http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss354/tigriswolf/next.jpg”/></a>

Date: 2012-03-07 06:09 am (UTC)I tried it on my own account and it showed up....*puzzled*
Here's a screenshot of the code I put in when i tested it out.
If it still doesn't work for you, I guess you could try the rich text. I stopped using rich text though once I got the hang of coding.

Date: 2012-03-07 06:22 am (UTC)But why? The HTML is identical and I still have no idea why it's not working.

Date: 2012-03-07 06:31 am (UTC)it could be your browser? or try uploading it to a different image hosing site?
or try this link for the image. I put it up on my server. http://reflectingdarkness.com/image/next.jpg

Date: 2012-03-08 01:14 am (UTC)Thank you so very much! All the navigation bars are in and the links work! *dances dizzily* Everything's ready to go except the tags.
Would you like a drabble?

Date: 2012-03-07 06:29 am (UTC)Okay, I just handtyped it out from your comment and something showed up (one of those little box things to let you know an image should be there), so thank you!
Truly, thank you so much for helping me. I think I'm going to come back to it later (much later) today.
Jumping in, hello!
Date: 2012-03-07 06:24 am (UTC)Also, you might want to double check in the final edit under the HTML tab that your quotation marks are all straight up and down and not 'curly' or 'smart' quotes, where the one at the start is a different shape than the one at the end. Those things bork so much code it's ridiculous. :-P
Re: Jumping in, hello!
Date: 2012-03-07 06:31 am (UTC)Can you suggest anywhere that might be better?
And the quote marks could definitely be the problem. I've been doing a lot of copying-and-pasting. When I come back to it much later in the day, I'll be on the watch for that.
