Castiel holds his head high, wings spread, hearing the voices inside him that make him Like God. His hands cover the world, all the realities, everything that is, was, and will be.
Castiel is no longer his name, he decides, listening to the heartbeat of his kingdom. Even Michael is unworthy, his brother who Was Like God. Michael is caged, defeated, broken. And he is not Like God, he realizes, smiling.
He Is God. He has become God, taken the world from Father's hands, and it is His, now. All is His, He Who Has Become God.
Dean, the newest Beloved of God, stares at Him. Dean's brother and Dean's sage, Samuel and Robert, stare at Him, He Who Is God. They are the beginnings of His disciples, if He but finds them worthy.
"You asked me a question, Dean," He says, "when My brothers fell into the cage. Ask it again."
Dean's eyes widen. His brother and sage look from Him to Dean, and the brother whispers, "Dean, what was the question?"
Taking a deep breath, swallowing heavily, Dean asks hesitantly, "Cas? Are You God?"
"I Am," He says.

Richie is young, and he has young problems. Methos sits at the bar and listens to the brat rant at Joe about the girl who won't take his calls and the movie he wanted to see that isn't at theaters anymore and what a harsh taskmaster Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod is.
Joe listens and then he gives the kid a bit of tough love, and Richie is either soothed or he isn't.
Adam Pierson has young problems, too. He lost his job, and he can't contact that maiden aunt of his and he has to learn to fight (and Duncan MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod is a harsh taskmaster, but he's nowhere near as harsh as Time). Adam doesn't complain about his problems, though. Adam laughs about Richie's, because Adam is so young he doesn't yet understand.
Methos knows that Richie will never outgrow his young problems. There's almost no way the kid will live past his first decade. Maybe if Methos took him on… but Methos won't. He has no interest in a student this century, so that's just too bad for Richie.

Sometimes Jason wakes up shaking in the middle of the night, sure the door just opened and he'll feel the bed dip any moment now.
Those mornings are always the worst, because he never can get back to sleep. It was better at Wayne Manor, though, because there he had Alfred.
Alfred, who always had muffins and cocoa on those mornings, and who chatted with Jason about TV shows neither of them watched and the college major Jason would probably never choose and the dog Bruce wouldn't let them get.
Alfred didn't talk down to Jason like he was a kid. Alfred didn't complain about Jason's shortcomings and how he wasn't as good as the sainted Dick Grayson at anything and that he needed to rein it back before he made a mistake so awful - well, it'd be awful.
Alfred trusted Jason. So Jason trusted Alfred right back.
But there is no Alfred here. Jason's alone in a penthouse, under a fake name. He doesn't trust anyone in this city... not even Alfred, really, not anymore.
He wishes, sometimes, that he'd gotten that childhood, because he's so lonely, now.
And on those nights, on those mornings, he wishes he could sneak into the Manor, for Alfred's muffins and cocoa, but instead he curls up in his bed and pretends he's happy, with a city fearing him and an ex-mentor trying to bring him down.

Professor Riddle is Harry's favorite. Dad and Uncle Sirius had shared all sorts of stories, and even Mum and Uncle Remus had praised his teaching style and the material, and how he made sure even the worst student excelled. Uncle Peter nodded along; he'd done well in Charms and DADA, and had been just behind Dad and the rest in Transfiguration, but he hadn't been at the top of the class like Mum and Uncle Remus.
Uncle Sev, though, was the one who really got Harry excited for Riddle's class. Uncle Sev was actually Riddle's assistant, until he got his Potions Mastery and left Hogwarts, though he still came back for the really big demonstrations.
Riddle was Head of Slytherin, and while Uncle Sirius still complained about that, it really made it neat when Harry was Sorted into his already-favorite teacher's House.
Even the Weasley twins were perfectly behaved in Riddle's class, Harry heard. Riddle was just so cool, such an awesome teacher, and Draco followed closely behind Harry in top marks. That Ravenclaw Granger grumbled about it in the library, but books and cleverness didn't get you very far in practicals, which is where Harry beat them all.
By seventh year, Harry sought Riddle's approval over even Uncle Sirius and Dad's, and when he stayed on to be Tom's assistant, no one was surprised.
(Dumbledore's eyes always twinkled at Harry, but they especially twinkled for Tom.
"I'm glad it worked out, Tom," he said once.
Tom simply nodded and agreed.)

When Thor is banished after attacking the jötnar, Loki follows him. Thor is unable to reclaim his hammer, but Loki magicks it out for him, and when the jötnar find their way into Asgard (Father's in his OdinSleep, and Baldr is such a nice guy, he didn't even think about welcoming the frost giants into their stronghold), Thor throws himself in front of Loki, taking a fatal blow meant for his little brother.
Loki, of course, curses him for it, but then he blasts the jötnar back and Thor's power is restored, and when Thor joins the Midgardian 'heroes,' Loki decides against returning to Asgard alone. (Father's awake, the jötnar tossed back to Jötunheimr, and Baldr banished for his inability to recognize friend from foe. He's sent to Niflheimr to spend time with Hel. It should do him some good.)
It doesn't take long for the Avengers (such a silly name, Loki tells Thor, but Thor likes it) to notice the chaos that follows Thor around, but when they ask, all he does is smirk that 'I'm a superhero alien god, booyah' smirk, and half the time, the chaos saves their lives, anyway.
