So, yeah. I just wrote this little drabble thing and was hoping someone wanted to read over it and tell me it doesn't suck? Like, I really like it. But it's kinda weird. Cute in the way anglerfish are cute, I think.

The warnings are: Improperly marked dialogue due to stylistic choices. Symbolism. Bullshittery. Character death, after a fashion. Suicide by way of mythological figures, too. Mentions of Odin’s A+ parenting.

And the pairing? *sigh* There isn't really one, but if there were... Yggdrasil/Jörmungandr. *facepalm*

It's 500 words. I'll probably put it on Ao3 tomorrow after work, after rereading it about a dozen times. But if someone else wanted to look it over and give me their thoughts?

I think your original mythos stories may be my favorites. (Along with anything Methos and your Priestly/TiH stuff).

(It's pleasantly odd to be able to fangirl over the creative works of someone who is slowly becoming a friend, enough to talk about life-career plans and ask about my mom. Ignore this sentimentality if you so choose, I'm overtired and grumpy and trying to find the shiny things in life tonight).

You want shiny? Think about baby sloths. Seriously. They are the cutest things and make the world better.

Also, megalodons. I love megalodons. But don't put them with baby sloths, because that would end badly.

And I really do think I want to focus on teaching now. But that involves possibly going back to school and matriculating to get certified before getting a master's, and I'd have to find another job (which I'll probably have to do anyway, damnit, and the money for school - *sigh*

I think I would go to school forever, if I could find a way to foot the bill. I want a graduate degree in sociolinguistics, maybe 2, actually (one studying archaic symbolic languages like runes and one on the effects of learning the local language on the concept of traveler vs. tourist. And a photography degree, or at least a couple years learning how to make my hobby/art better. And to attend culinary institutes in at least 2 foreign countries.

Nope, I miss the collegiate environment. From the student side, anyhow. I know too much now about the politics of academia, and I was only a graduate teaching assistant with 2 classes.
