Ah, okay. Well, I can't say the weather in the past few months has been unusual (hurricane country), but that fire back in July (or June?) and yesterday are odd.
Hurricanes we can deal with; no surprises there. Thankfully.
Probably just seems like that to me because we don't get dangerous weather like that, and we're outside the major forest fire areas. We just have the really big earthquake that they've been saying for decades is supposed to hit soon.
Well, we went without the dangerous weather for four years; we were due. Gave (most of) us time to heal after 2005's record breaking (in every possible way to break a record). And then there was that oil spill. *sigh* Such a good thing we didn't get any hurricanes that year.
Earthquakes terrify me. Just the thought of the ground betraying me. I'm so glad I live where we have hurricanes and not much else - no volcanoes (besides that super one asleep beneath Yellowstone, which would kill all of us), very rarely get tornadoes, too wet (usually) for major fires, and earthquakes are a non-thought.
There was a small one last year, and another small one a while back. It is really freaky. For the next few days afterward the ground feels uncertain, like you're walking on a boat even though it's not moving.

What do you mean?
It was more of an inconvenience than anything else. Yesterday was weird.
