Why would you bookmark something only to tear it apart in your bookmark notes (and not leave a comment) even though you surely must know that authors check out the bookmarks of their stories?
I love it as a reader, and hate it as a reviewer (although as a reader, I don't feel the connection to my favorite writers like I used to in the 'good old days' so even that interaction is missing/muted. I don't know if it's sustainable. Like if were not feeding our writers, how long willthey write? Over the last year, I've gone from "I'd rather have interactions with my readers than money, so why would I go pro?" to "I'm not getting the level of interest/interaction that I crave, so why not sell it?" I've got nothing to lose, and thats really sad.
Yeah, the old days of writing Supernatural fic on LJ--I got so many more comments than I do now. It felt more conversational, I guess? And I miss that. I know I'm a better writer these days but I don't feel like it sometimes because it seems like no one's really reading my stuff.
