I didn't go to mine 2 years ago because I didn't want to be around the majority of the people in school. Why would I spend the money to be around them now? It's still the same cliques, and everyone pretends to be everyone's friend until their back is turned. No thank you. But I did pay the $15 for a t-shirt though :)
I think it's actually paying the $55 and having to find a parking spot downtown that's dissuading me the most. If it was at the actual school, I'd be more inclined to go.
I basically had a brainfart because I have something to brag about, but if it's anything like the ONE thing I attended, I'd just be miserable the whole time.
I just wrote back and told them they couldn't pay me enough to attend. High School was NOT the Golden Years, it was a particular form of hell to many of us.
It's not that I was unhappy in HS (I literally don't care about any of them enough to like or dislike). If I didn't care about them then, why would I care now? I'm a little curious but not enough.
I've just been thinking about those years recently (due to a paper I had to write for one of my summer courses), so the reunion thing is happening at a coincidental time.
Voted for 'nope'. I don't (and didn't) go to mine because there's only one person I want to be in touch with, and I can do it without reunion stuff already :)
I just missed my 30th reunion a couple of weeks back. Saw the pictures; didn't see a single person I would have wanted to interact with. So my vote? Meh...
The penultimate one is why I didn't go to mine last year.
Somehow, TV episodes about characters attending their high school reunions never mention the fact you need to pay. And the reunions always take place in the actual high school.
I went to my ten year and it was pointless. Too soon after high school. Didn't go to my 20th for various reasons, might go to the 30th when it comes around. Wish I could go to the reunion of the class after mine though. Most of my friends were one year below me.
I ended up not going. I didn't have friends but there were people I was friendly with, and by the time I graduated, they were all in the year below me, too.
