California is frequently on fire. When we were reading Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower, our instructor in Science Fiction class told us about this site: http://iscaliforniaonfire.com/
She mentioned it since the characters in Parable of the Sower are in (bad future) California and both arson (especially by gangs of users of an addictive drug that makes fire excite people) and forest fires (from dry heat caused by climate change) are major problems.
