I'm a few hours travel by car from the border (technically even closer since that includes a long ferry) and yeah, it's kind of nerve-wracking watching the news coming up from down there.
It's hard to believe it's real, really. The whole campaign has been bemusing, and Trump seems like a cartoon villain, and I can't believe he's actually a legitimate candidate, let alone is up for President. He and his whole campaign has seemed like a rolling dumpster fire. I mean no politician is without flaws, but every report seems to support that he's 100% flaw.
I really hope Hillary wins. She's not perfect because no one is, but putting that much power and authority in the hands of someone like Trump who is provably a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, elitist, warmongering liar would not be a good thing for anyone on the planet. IMO.
I was pretty sure it was all a joke until early this year, and I cannot believe he was actually endorsed by anyone.
My belief is that anyone who actually WANTS to be president shouldn't be, but honestly, Hillary has been fighting against misogyny for longer than I've been alive and it's filtered into the public consciousness.
I've stopped watching the coverage. I'll find out the final result in the morning. There's nothing I can do about it and I feel like I'm having a panic attack as Trump's numbers keep rising.
Same. It looks like over half of my state voted for a garbage bag in a human suit and I don't understand. Are they stupid? That hateful? There is literally nothing about that fuckwad that is at all charming or appealing.
OR they voted third party, which is just another vote for the living garbage in a flesh suit.
HE ISN'T A POLITICIAN. HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. DOES HE EVEN HAVE A PLAN?!
Well, I live in Scotland, which is more left-leaning than England. Everyone I know personally is terrified of Trump, but they're mostly lefties to be fair. Having said that, even my Mum, who lives in England, thinks he is very dangerous. And she, to my everlasting shame, reads the Daily Mail.
