So, I’ve been reading more than anything lately. So far, it’s all been rereads of my favorites, as I’d planned to read through my entire bookcase to see if I still wanted all the books on it. I have quite a few library books that I haven’t read before, but I’ll take recs, if anyone has anything in particular they think I’d enjoy.

No worries, Shards of Honour can be difficult to get into. I read it well after I'd started reading the Miles books, so I had more background/future knowledge for the Cordelia books. They've got a very different feel to them.

Thanks for giving them a try! :-)

Oh me too usually. With this series I wound up reading a book quite far along in it first because I was haunting the sci fi section of the library at the time. that was the one they had in and it wasn't marked as book x of the series because the way Bujold writes, they're all self contained, just with continuity. read it, loved it then backtracked for the rest.

Very much not my usual habit with books though. Reading later books in the series before earlier books in most series' is too much like reading spoilers. XD
