Oh. We don't have anything like that in Ireland - and the timing of it is so awful - which is why I suspected it belonged in the same territory as the Nigerian Prince. I'm sorry *hugs*
Yeah, it's this loan you can take out to help pay for procedures - my lilsis' cat needed an ultrasound when her liver stopped working and we didn't have enough (and Mom wouldn't pay for it), so we got a card from those people and then slowly paid it back.
ah, yes, that instant punched-in-the-gut-by-life feeling. once, just after dad died, I literally felt all my stomach muscles tighten at once in reaction to something I saw on screen: and lo, suddenly that phrase was no longer a euphemism. that day, I very much wished life had a face to punch back.
There are some things I still can't stand - like references to fire, or some things about felines. A couple weeks ago, I called my older sister for comfort and as the conversation meandered, she started talking about locking her cat in the room on accident and then the cat peed on the bed, and how annoying that was.
My cat got UTIs at least three times a year since he was a couple years old.
My Dad didn't believe in pet insurance, and my previous dog had SO MANY problems, insurance would have been a great help, especially for the €800+ surgery on her hind legs.
With Amber we learned our lesson, and it's paying off. I got back over €300 of a €400 bill from when she had the pancreatitis and needed to be boarded and monitored back before Christmas. It's a pain but to me it's worth it.

Date: 2017-02-28 02:58 am (UTC)I didn't know that was a thing. Just asked the parentals and it apparently is but hella expensive.

Date: 2017-02-26 04:49 am (UTC)It's not actually spam; I signed up for something a couple years ago and forgot to cancel it when I stopped needing it.
But, yeah. I've unsubscribed now.
