So, I’ve always felt sorta squicky about reading real person fics, except for the completely AU ones, like wolf!Jensen and cheetah!Jared(which rocks, by the way). I’ve never written them(except in my head, and that so doesn’t count). There’s just something kinda invasive about it, you know?

 

And now that I’ve met Jensen Ackles, I can’t read it anymore. (Except wolf!Jensen and cheetah!Jared.) *sigh* Some of it’s really good, too.

 

When I was sitting at the restaurant with bigsis(who is AWESOMELY AWESOME) after the play, I actually wondered if it’d be able to write any fics about any Jensen characters anymore. I’ve decided I can. I just can’t read RP fics. Ever again.

 

He’s awesome, by the way. I’ll be owing bigsis till I die.

I was like that first - I refused to read any RP stuff (which I didn't know existed for ages) but then a particular story dragged me into the world of J2 fics so know I read more J2 than Sam/Dean (cos wincest still squicks me a little)

However, that said, Supernatural is the only fandom I read RP stuff, because like you said, it's quite invasive.

I actually remember, back when I first discovered fanfiction, there was this RPF I read with Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanze. I'd also just discovered BtVS, so I was reading everything I could. It was an interesting story.

I also read Orlando Bloom RPF back after the whole LotR/PotC craze started. (Lots of Mary-Sue's in that category). And one Josh Hartnett fic.

But, yeah, pretty much it was CW/WB RPF that took over... and now... nope, no more.
