Buck will follow Chris, no matter where Chris leads. They’re both reeling, lost in pain and rage, but Buck has always been able to shove down deep how he feels and focus on someone else’s hurt.

Chris needs help; he’s spiraling out of control, lashing out, taking out his fury on anyone who gets in his way. He needs someone who won’t leave, who understands his moods and his actions. And Buck does. They’ve known each other for so long, he knows Chris. Sees his flaws and his faults, accepts them. Accepts him.

Chris will pull out of his darkness one day. And he’ll need someone there, someone to ground him, someone who understands and forgives.

So Buck’ll stay with Chris because he remembers the man Chris used to be.

Wonderful description of the trials their friendship has been through. Buck seems so much apart of Chris's past life and when it comes right down to it they have stood the tests of time, grief, and rage. Still friends after so much. I really love this.

You know what this is, right? It's the perfect set up for Buck's hurt, anger, and fury at the arrival of vin in Chris's life. because everything you say here is truth. Buck is all of those things because he loves Chris as much as vin does - perhaps, even , more.

Ahh..now this is an interesting part of M7 history to me, in any universe. Just how Buck did (or possibly didn't) cope with the chaos Chris likely created around himself at that time. That's the marker of a true committment, if you ask me, whether you're a C/B fan or not. To say nothing of the kind of man Chris is, to trigger that kind of loyalty.

Nice vignette.

What's your icon?

Oh, it's nothing fannish unfortunately, just a small piece of one of my paintings. I'm a sucker for blue and orange.

Oh, I like that. Love seeing Buck's loyalty to Chris and how it's based on memory. And hope that he'll come back to himself.

Buck's friendship with Chris amazes me and it's just *wonderful* to see it explored.

Very nice!

That's a really good ficlet, certainly covers how I see the relationship Buck has with Chris.

I love your title. It's perfect.

They’re both reeling, lost in pain and rage, but Buck has always been able to shove down deep how he feels and focus on someone else’s hurt.

Sometimes I forget that Buck must have also been enraged that Sarah and Adam were killed. It's not easy to be Chris's friend and anchor so I always think that Chris was very, very lucky to have met Buck Wilmington. There is such a bond between them and you've captured it.
