So, I was taking a nap after being involved in a collision this morning(rear-ended on the interstate; I'm fine, and my car is fine.  More of an inconvenience than anything else.  Although, my head hurts, my shoulders hurt, and my previously-sprained foot hurts in a way it hasn't before.). 

I dreamed that I was at a book fair, picking up various things that interest me.  One of them was a book about a were-Nessie who punishes a woman (by eating her) who had a whale lover.  Then, the were-Nessie went on land, somehow, and I think someone else was supposed to hunt him.

My brain, ya'll.  *shrugs*

I forgot to mention that there were minature animals in a safari type exhibit. (Like, toy size.) Some of them were horses missing their feet, because(in my dream), there's a practice in Egypt where they cut off the feet, because they grow back. There were little feet littering the ground and minature horses grazing around them.

It was creepy, though. They were walking around on little stumps. *shudders* In my dream, I left that room quickly.

Probably means you should write it. You know you can do long stuff, like that Devour/SPN crossover (I'm so sorry I never commented on it, but it hit all my maternal squick buttons. What I did read of it was very professional and loked like it could have potential to be re-written as a novella in its own right)

But have a go. I find folks own stuff to be as involving as their fanfic.

I really need to finish something that's original. I've started so many, write like mad for a few days, and then lose the thread... it's highly annoying.

I feel your pain on the losing the thread. I seem to be having high-jinks that way myself.

If you were to retool a fanfic, you'd have to change the names and enough of the story details that it doesn't resemble Devour or SPN. For instance Abigail was killed in a demonic ritual, crucified or something.

Ideas are can't be copyrighted, it's the expression that protected. Give 20 people the same outline and you'll get 20 different stories. Take "mother is killed by mysterious forces while kids are still young. Kids grow up to become demon hunters" is the plot of Bleach, Devil May Cry and Supernatural.

That's off the top of my head. I'm sure if I sat down for ten minutes I'd come up with more.

That dream sounds like it should really be a folk tale. Some of those are rather weird, too.

Good thing you survived the collision in one piece; just remember to rest, and keep that formerly-sprained foot of yours raised.
