I asked for five words from[info]smilla02. The words and their explications follow.

Writing: my one true love. I remember that before eighth grade, I could really take or leave writing; back then, I loved to read. I still do, but writing is where my passion lies, you know? I’ll just be driving and start singing, making it up as I go along, and I’ll have to jot down the lyrics at a stoplight. Or, I’ll be cleaning the kitchen and a line comes to me, and I’ll go write it somewhere because if I don’t, I’ll forget. That’s happened dozens of times: I’ll remember having the perfect phrase, but can’t recall what it was. Sometimes, when I’m half-asleep, the beginning of something will come to me and I can’t actually fall back asleep until it’s written. Before “Supernatural” most of what I wrote was original fiction or poetry. Since then—my creative well seems to have devoted itself fully to the boys. I haven’t actually finished an original piece in over a year. I don’t have a special system or anything, and I rarely do outlines. I favor short pieces, I’ve found; I lose the thread of long things.  I like internal rhyme and playing with how words fit together. My favorite was poetry for awhile; I’ve always liked reading it and actually making my own was a thrill. I miss writing it.

Star Trek: My newest fandom. I grew up knowing the Vulcan salute and have understood Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated for as long as I can remember because of my mother. But I never really cared about TOS or any of the spin-off shows, though we did watch “Enterprise” for a while. But the reboot… ye gods, the reboot. I’ve seen it eight times and would gladly go back a hundred more. I don’t even know why but something in it clicks with me. Even with “Supernatural” it wasn’t so fast; the pilot actually scared me away. But since I saw the movie, it’s mostly all I read, all I think up stories in my head about. I think I subconsciously search for ways to make a crossover for it.

Horses: My entire life, I’ve never been afraid of animals. There’s a picture of me as a toddler reaching out to touch a snake probably as long as I am tall right now. On most of our vacations, we’d go for horseback rides. I think my fifth birthday party was at a farm where most of the kids rode a pretty good-sized horse. About six years ago, I started riding with my mother regularly, once or twice a month. Last year, I fell off for the first time and didn’t go near a horse again for six months. (I wasn’t scared or anything; the barn where we ride is just all the way across town, and there’s no reason to go there when we’re not gonna ride.) I think everyone should canter at least once in their life. There is nothing else I have ever experienced that comes close to equaling being completely in-synch with a horse at a canter.  And have you ever watched them run around a pasture? It’s the most beautiful thing.

little sister: I both have a little sister and am one myself.  My sisters are far more outgoing than I am, and I write way more than either of them ever has. I got both into “Supernatural.” My baby sister shares my twisted sense of humor and we have the same laugh. We also laugh at the same things at the same time. I’m fairly sure I would kill for her, though I’d prefer to never test that theory.

Pens: I collect pens. I don’t have a favorite brand or kind, though the colors I favor are blue, black, red, green, and purple.  I used to have a system where I took notes in one color and then added stuff in another color. I also had a writing notebook where I used only one color and any editing/additions were another.  I’m over that now, though. I usually type anymore (I think that’s because it’s the summer. During the school year, I’ll probably go back to some system.) I still like admiring pens. They’re just so cool, you know? Also, I like to put the tops back on pens I find lying around.

I was a big TOS fan as a child anyway, watched a lot of TNG and Voyager, but didn't click with DS9 or Enterprise. The Reboot, is my favourite characters just waaaaaaaaaaaay hotter. I have to admit I was skeptical about the film based on my TOS love, it always will be my favourite series I think, but the movie was just one fantastic ride from start to finish. I've seen if 4 times at the cinema, and I'm just waiting to get my hands on the DVD! :)
