You know what I want? An icon with the words “beneath the sky of lust” and a Supernatural video to Richard Marx’s “Children of the Night”. *shrugs*
Also, are there any Supernatural videos to “Locking Up The Sun?”
Yes, I finally got my Poets of the Fall CD. *glee*
I have a new job, at my college’s bookstore. I get 20% off textbooks.
So, I know I had a plan for my werewolf!Dean ‘verse. I actually think I might have ended up turning Sam into a vampire, so that he and Dean could be together forever. Or that may have been a different story. However, even though I’ve reread the entirety of what I have, I still lack the inspiration to finish it.
I took an assessment of my possible careers and guess what the top result was? Translator. Yeah, I have no idea either. I’m barely conversational in Spanish, if that, and I really don’t see myself ever getting better. The rest of the results, however, do seem more accurate.
I found a short story I started last year, about a family descended from fairies. I added some to it. I also located, again, some stuff I’ve been meaning to type up and (possibly) finish for about a year. Maybe even longer.
I think I want to teach people to read. Not little kids (I’ve already done two semesters helping second graders get better at reading), but illiterate adults. Or maybe English as a second language. Any ideas for material to research? I’ve already emailed a volunteering program here in the city, but no one’s gotten back to me yet.
Actually, you know what? Listening to this CD (Poets of the Fall, Carnival of Rust), there should be a vid for just about every song. Have you heard “All the Way/4U?” Holy shit, dudes.
I think my new favorite animal is the supercroc. They are AWESOME. Maybe my career should have something to do with prehistoric beasts? Except that would require science classes, yeah?
I watched Disney’s Hercules today. Hades reminded me an awful lot of Alistair.
Of course, everything reminds me of Supernatural, so maybe that’s not so shocking.
And another thing: I rewatched some of "The Magnificent Seven" very early this morning and actually looked for any other pairing besides Chris/Vin. The only thing that leapt out was Buck/JD, except I already saw them. So.
Anyway, time to wrap up this post. So, final thought: if you could have me write anything, (any fandom, any storyline) what would it be? Also, any timestamp requests? That might be interesting.

Date: 2010-01-13 03:02 am (UTC)It's been awhile since I watched the movie, but I like the songs, so I decided to see it again, since I can't get my hands on the soundtrack without buying it.
I'll check that fic out.

Date: 2010-01-13 02:59 am (UTC)Well, if you watched BSG I'd have you write every major character's thoughts during "Sometimes a Great Notion".
Circumstances being as they are, perhaps a story where Alec is sent back to his past body (he doesn't know why and neither do we, he's just gotten a second chance) and manages to prevent Rachel's death and go on the run from Manticore, which necessitates that he leave Seattle for a while. He encounters Ben. He returns to Seattle (a move Manticore wouldn't expect) and is with Jam Pony before Max gets there.

Date: 2010-01-13 03:05 am (UTC)Alternatively, I want you to continue the Star Trek/Sky High/Supernatural/DCU/whatever-else-you-had-in-there story you did for reel_startrek, because it was incredible and I love what you did with Bones' character. Or, if you have continued it and I just missed it, could I have a link to them?
What's a timestamp request?
(no subject)
Date: 2010-01-13 03:30 am (UTC)*hee* That'd be awesome.
No, everything I have of the Sky High/Star Trek reboot fusion is posted. (Well, except for a couple of scenes that got cut because I didn't see how I'd be able to finish it. Orginally, the fic would have spanned the whole school year, but I eventually figured out I had neither the inspiration nor the steam for that. The deleted scenes take place at the end of the year.) Also, thank you so much! I did have fun with that 'verse.
A timestamp is where you pick one of my stories (or more than one) and choose any time--like, a week before the start or ten years later--you want me to write.

Date: 2010-01-13 04:26 am (UTC)"We all go sometime" - many years after the last one ends
"In the glow" - the morning after one of those episodes
"Tryin' to chase the Lone Ranger down" - one week earlier
"Tower" - five years later
you can do any or all of these. No pressure. :)
"we all go sometime, seventy-five years later" - implied Bones/Jim, PG
Date: 2010-01-13 05:19 am (UTC)“Grandpapa!” Annabell hollers, letting the door bang shut behind her. “You have a letter!”
Leonard turns his head to watch her trump through the den. “A letter?” he asks. Someone actually used paper for something? Odd.
“Who calls you Bones?” she demands, handing off the envelope. “I thought I know everyone you know.”
Yeah, thanks for that, Starfleet. Leonard doesn’t need a keeper, even if she is his favorite great-grandchild. “You do,” he answers quietly, tired all of a sudden.
Seventy-five years. His fingers curl around the fragile paper and he bows his head.
“Bellie,” he says, “I’m gonna go lay down now.”
His legs, the traitors, try to collapse beneath him, so he suffers the indignity of needing her help, and then he clutches the envelope to his face. If he pretends hard enough, he can still smell Jim.
He doesn’t want to open it, to read whatever Jim thought important enough to send today, on his birthday. He’s done a good job moving on—seventy-five years is a damned long time.
He hasn’t been to space since they got home from that last mission. Holding the envelope, he can imagine the sky as they soar through it, dark and deep and quiet.
“You stubborn bastard,” he mutters, carefully unsealing it. “You damned fool.”
He hasn’t been Bones in seventy-five years. Reading those words in that handwriting, he’s three-quarters of a century back, shaking his head in amazement as Jim Kirk waxes poetic about some stunt he just survived.
It hurts as much as he expected, but it also feels so good—young and alive, and smiling.

Date: 2010-01-13 04:00 pm (UTC)"in the glow, morning after" - pre Jim/Bones, PG
Date: 2010-01-13 05:31 am (UTC)“Damn, what’d I do last night?” Jim groans, rolling out of bed.
Bones shrugs, scrolling through one of his medical journals. “Two cadets, I think,” he says, voice perfectly pitched to send pain through Jim’s head.
Jim glares at him but Bones doesn’t even look up.
Last night was bad—a mixture of the Kelvin and Frank, and Bones being in the car with him when it sailed over the cliff.
“Got a remedy for me?” Jim whimpers, widening his eyes and pouting.
Rolling his eyes, Bones stands up and stalks over, hypo already in hand.

Date: 2010-01-13 04:01 pm (UTC)"one week ago" - Bones/Jim, PG13
Date: 2010-01-13 05:47 am (UTC)“Look, it’ll be a simple mission,” Jim says, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “In-and-out, no problem. Two days max.”
Bones cocks his head, still not persuaded. “If it’s such an easy thing, why can’t I go with you? You know I need off this rust-bucket. I’ll go crazy soon, start rampagin’ through the halls.”
Jim glares for a second, then starts gently sucking on his neck. “Don’t call my best girl a rust-bucket,” he commands, words muffled by Bones’ skin.
Huffing a laugh, Bones stretches his neck, giving Jim better access. “You know, Uhura told me they have a couple hot springs down there,” Bones murmurs.
Pausing, Jim pulls back far enough to look at him. Bones smirks.
“Fine,” Jim says.
“Fine,” Bones retorts.
With that settled, Jim goes back to work on driving Bones insane.

Date: 2010-01-13 03:45 am (UTC)“Bones!” Jim yelled, large black wings straining to keep him and Spock both in the air. “Get out of here!”
Spock would be fine; Bones could tell that in a glance. So would Jim, once he slept for a day and drank enough fluids to rehydrate himself.
“Leonard, I must agree with Jim,” Spock called through the air. “You can do nothing but retreat.”
Sam lay on the ground unmoving, Cory convulsing just past him. Too many emotions hitting him, Bones diagnosed. He reached down to lightly touch Sam’s skin: he’d be fine. Just a light concussion, once he regained consciousness.
“Jim,” he called back over his shoulder, straining to see them through the flames. “I can’t be hurt, remember? There’s no one better for this. Get back to the surface and track down Kent, for the love of God.”
“Bones!” Jim yelled again. “Bones, get your ass out of there!”

Date: 2010-01-13 03:09 am (UTC)If I knew how to make icons, I would make you that "beneath the sky of rust" one. But I don't, so I can't. Sorry!
Yay for you having a job! Now if only I can find one...
You could be better at Spanish if you were properly motivated. You should go to Spain for a semester and take me with you. (Helloooo Spanish boys!!!!)
I think you would be good at teaching people to read. Although, to teach it as a second languange you would probably have to learn whatever their native tongue is, first. But I can see you excelling at. You're patient, don't make people feel like they're idiots for asking questions, and have a very thorough grasp of the English languange. Plus, you'd enjoy it.
Cursing! *shock and horror* CALL THE POPE!!! CALL THE HOSPITAL!!! OH MY GOD, CALL SOMEONE!!!!*runs around like a chicken with hee head cut off*
Absolutely NO supercrocs! You will never see your future neices and nephews if you do!
Hades is the shiznit. Alistair can't even touch that. *nanana, can't touch this*
No! No JD/Buck! JD is innocent and shall stay that way forever!! *hides in protective innocence bubble*
I would like you to write a Harry Potter fic. Prompt: 7 people Hermione and Ron didn't kill for Harry. (One person for each year.) Oh wait, this sounds familiar.......
P.S. I like it beter when you number these random-post-thingies. That way, you know exactly which comment I'm referring to.

Date: 2010-01-13 03:35 am (UTC)Actually, the career counselor I talked to said that teachers don't need to know the foreign language.
Hey, it’s not that big a shock I cursed, dude.
Alistair could so kick Hades’ ass!
Hey, you know, that fic does sound familiar… I wonder why that could be. *smirks*
PS. This is a conversation, not a bulletin.

Date: 2010-01-13 03:45 am (UTC)Well, there went my only objection! Go for it!
No, but it was still fun to say (type? write? whatever).
Dude. Hades' hair is BLUE FIRE. Alistair has yellow eyes. Hades can burn out Alistair's eyeballs WITH HIS HAIR. Let's see Alistair do that.
Well, gee! *strong southern accent* I wonder why that is? And, isn't that nice?
P.S. Oh. Well then.
*points at icon* (Dance super-croc! Dance!)

*stronger southern accent* Well, darlin, Ah actually added a sentence.
*points to icon* Flee, Ryan, flee!

Date: 2010-01-13 03:51 am (UTC)Teaching English as a second language seems like quite a challenge, and definitely a neat career option.
hmm... if I could have you write anything it would obviously be for Supernatural...
given my budding evil!dean fetish, which is partly your fault, if I could have you write anything it would be an evilDean coercing, prodding, and manipulating Sam and Castiel into swearing their allegiance to him despite their reservations. and then the end of the world by the hand of dean or his allies, as an afterthought that wouldn't necessarily appear in the fic, but might be implied.
as for why dean is evil...could be post-hell evil, some sort of ritual gone wrong, who knows.
wow, I got a little carried away there.

Date: 2010-01-13 03:55 am (UTC)Teaching at all seems like quite a challenge. Teachers should totally have higher salaries.
Ooh, that fic sounds like fun.
