Prompt: Leo/Piper, their first grandchild
Her name is Melinda and she's born at sunrise. Wyatt is the first to hold her, and he hands her to her mother, a mortal who can barely understand the magnitude of the child in her arms, but already loves her more than anything. More than everything.
Piper is crying, and Leo, and Phoebe and Paige, and everyone else. Magic hasn't stopped like it did for Melinda's father, but the birds are singing louder and the sun is shining brighter, and it's a beautiful day.
Piper cradles her granddaughter close and hums a lullaby her mother used to sing, and Leo kisses them both.
(Chris wonders, hugging Wyatt, if Mom is thinking of that lost daughter, in one what-if world, and decides it doesn't matter. This is now, and enough was sacrificed that he's sure his might-have-been sister understands.)

Prompt: Connor/Becker, heartbeat.
They find him at the base of a tree, barely breathing. Abby is missing, though there is a bloodstained trail leading away from Connor. He sends Connor back home through the anomaly and follows after Abby.
He doesn't find her. By sundown, he knows he won't, but he keeps pushing on, because he can't face Connor having given up on Abby.
By sunrise, he knows he has to go back. He has a duty to his men, who haven't once complained.
Connor'll live, Lester tells him. Quinn's still missing, but Connor will live. Lester tells him to take a week off, him and Sarah. Everyone needs a rest.
So he sits down next to Connor and waits for him to wake up.

Prompt: Kirk/Spock, jealousy
He watches with a completely indifferent eye as Captain Kirk flirts with... well, everyone in the cantina, human and not. Spock is simply observing human-other interactions. It will make a fascinating report, he's sure.
Beside him, Dr. McCoy sighs. "You're just as stupid as he is," Dr. McCoy mutters. "If you want Jim, you have to go for him, Spock. Throw him down and ravish him." Under his breath, he hisses, "Can't believe I'm sayin' this." Louder, he continues, "He never actually makes a move on the people he really cares about." Dr. McCoy slams his glass down. "If I ever find out just who's responsible for that quirk, I'll be sure to see to it he ends up on my table," he mutters.
Spock is unsure of the correct response to that, so he says, "Doctor, how capable is Captain Kirk of being…" He pauses, searching for a word that won't offend his companion.
Dr. McCoy chuckles. "Very capable, Spock, if he finds the right person." With what can only be defined as a 'wicked smirk,' Dr. McCoy slaps him on the shoulder. "Go get him, tiger."
Spock stands and strides to his captain.

Prompt: Neal/Nate, back corner booth
"What've you been up to?" Neal asks, sipping the wine.
Nate raises an eyebrow. "You think I didn't notice you checking up on me, kid?"
Neal shrugs. "It's called small-talk, Nathan. You used to be good at it."
"Well, it hasn't been quite as high-profile as joining the FBI," Nate says, "but I've been keepin' busy."
"Good," Neal says quietly. "You've always needed something to do."
Nate smiles. "Stay on the straight and narrow, Neal. I'd hate to have to break you out of jail."

Wordcount: 100
Point of view: third
Prompt: Dean/Rory, third time's a charm
He's taller and broader, and a little stand-offish, now. She deserves it, she knows, after... well, everything.
So she goes slow. Subtle. Just a smile, then a hello, then buying too much pie and handing some off to him. By his small grin—so tiny, so quick—she knows he's caught on, but he lets her pursue him, now.
When she asks him to Kirk's one-man-play, guaranteed to be horrible, he smiles and says he'd love to go.
She'll do right by him, this time. They're both grown-ups now. Both professionals and world-savvy, and they'll get their happily ever after.
