To celebrate the New Year, I figure I'll ask for prompts. Y'all suggest a scene you'd like to see from any of my 'verses and I'll ponder on writing it.
“We’re leaving,” the child says through the phone. “He’s… I don’t think he’s really forgiven me yet.”
“Of course he hasn’t forgiven you yet,” Ben tells him, adding a pinch of salt to his tomato sauce. He examines it for a moment and throws in some more. “You killed him, boyo. It’ll be centuries before he lets that go.”
If he ever does. Cassandra’s still pissed. Ben really should kill her for good one of these days.
“But I love him,” the child says.
Ben scoffs. “Love’s one shade away from hate.” He stirs the sauce, tastes it, and says, “Bring him by. I should meet your soulmate, don’t you think?”
“Yes,” the child breathes. “Our names… we’re Blake and Connor. I wanted something similar, for his first change.”
Ben chuckles, taking the sauce off the burner. “You’re treating him with kid gloves, Blake. He’ll never learn if you stay in the shallows. He’s been one of us for a decade. Do you remember your first decade in?”
Blake shudders. Ben can practically hear it through the phone. “His first years won’t be anything like mine,” the boy promises.
Of that, Ben is sure. Blake has always been careful with the things he loves.
“Bring your boy by, Bairam,” Methos commands.
“I will, old man,” Bairam says, and then, “Enjoy your dinner. I need to get back to Connor.”
Ben ends the call, slips the phone into his pocket, and carries the pot of noodles over to sink to drain.
I do *grins* It might not be everything I've said, but whatever, it reads like kind of a 'bridge' to the meeting... and now I want that food *is hungry as usual* XD Blaine sure likes B-names XD Useful, it seems. ::)
Methos + the boy, PG

Date: 2012-01-14 05:01 pm (UTC)I may write the actual meeting; I haven't decided yet.
I usually write Methos as using something related to Adam, Ben, and Matt, so I kept his student sticking to Bs, yeah.
