For the record, I am so tired of winter. It's weird that we're even having a winter. On Sunday, it stayed around 60F all day and it was so lovely. I actually couldn't wear a jacket because I started sweating! Then the cold moved back in and I am tired of it. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to go to class; I could just curl up in my living room or something. But no. I have to go to class because I'm responsible.
I actually cut my second ever grad school class last Thursday because of the weather: I didn't feel safe walking without an actualfax winter coat, which I didn't have with me. (The first ever grad school class I cut was because I got word that my great-aunt (more like a grandma) had died.)
So, yeah. Winter. I guess I'm finally learning what that actually is. It sucks. For the record.

Date: 2014-02-13 02:37 pm (UTC)I do have a fairly strong work ethic; as an undergrad, I felt guilty for every class I missed (almost always because I had a migraine or was sick). I think I missed maybe 5 classes in 4 years? *shrugs*
At the moment, while it's 32F outside, I'm wearing a coat on top of a hoodie on top of a shirt. I didn't have the coat last week, just the hoodie.
It's 32F right now; it's supposed to be about 75F on Monday. WTF is going on?

I do actually have winter boots, mainly because it rains so much that we need waterproof shoes here.

I've actually worn my flannel lined winter bonnet a few times. Something like the one in the photograph on the Christian Coverings website but with the smaller brim.
And my big black leather coat. Now if only I had someway to keep a scarf pinned up in front of my mouth. All that cold air makes me cough.

Date: 2014-02-13 03:04 pm (UTC)I hope so. This winter thing sucks. It's almost as bad as 100F summer days, but at least we know how to deal with those.

Date: 2014-02-13 03:06 pm (UTC)On the second of our four (FOUR) snow days since the new year, I stayed in my apartment and didn't see have a face-to-face interaction with single solitary soul all day. I didn't realize until later that the reason I was so depressed that day was a combination of the gray sky and not seeing anybody.
